"The truth hurts, we all know it. But empty lies will hurt more for the truth will soon be unraveled. It always has been this way." ~unknown
"Dad!" Someone shouted. "Daddy wake up! It's breakfast time! And mommy made coffee, your favorite!" A cute voice exclaimed cheerfully.
I found myself standing in a room, closely resembling mine. I saw a little girl shaking someone on the bed. The little girl looked like the younger version of me. Same eyes I received from my mom and same face features as well as my long, brown hair.
"Okay honey I'm awake." The person on the bed said while ruffling her hair.
"Yayy, lets go to mommy now!" She excitedly pulled him to the door. The guy was incredibly tall and had the same brown hair as the little girl. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see his full face, as his back was turned to me.
The little girl led him out the door. I tried to move to follow them, but I couldn't. I was stuck in the same place and tried my best to walk, but my legs wouldn't. Confusion hit me.
In the blink of an eye, I was standing outside a grocery store. This place seems familiar, I thought. I saw the same little girl holding on to her mother's hand. The mother seemed so much like mine. As she turned her head, I was shook. It was indeed my mother. Realization hit me in the head. Could it be?
My mother said something to the little girl as the little girl smiled and nodded. My mother quickly ran away and the little girl stood there, constantly smiling. Were these flashbacks of my past? It couldn't be, I never remember me waking up my dad.
All of a sudden, I was brought to another place. It was school, specifically, kindergarten. I was standing in the school cafeteria, where kids were eating, laughing, and enjoying their free time. The same little girl was searching the area for something.
"Emily! Emily!" A little boy called out. The girl smiled widely and ran to him.
Emily? Was the little girl really me? I had never went to school though and have been homeschooled by my mother throughout my whole childhood."I got candy for you, and it's your favorite candy, guess!" The mysterious boy said.
"Kisses! Am I right?" She asked. He smiled and held a box full of kisses in front of him, and handed the box to Emily. Her face lit up in happiness as she gave him a hug. The boy blushed and quickly hid his face.
"Seth, don't hide your face like that you cutie!" She scolded and let out a laugh, teasing him. He laughed along, scolding himself for his foolish behavior.
Seth? Why? Questions ran through my head as I watched the scene unfold in front of me.
Ringgg
I was awoken by the sound of an alarm clock for the hundredth million time. Stupid alarm clock, I thought. That dream seemed so real. My mother, me, dad, and Seth were in them. Was that really me? Is there something about my past I had forgotten?
The door nob twisted as Seth entered the room. I was gonna ask him about this.
"Hey Seth, did we ever meet when I was younger?" I asked. His face filled with shock at first but was quickly covered up by a nervous smile.
"Us? Meet when we were little? I don't know what you mean, we only met this year in highschool." He stated. I didn't believe what he said. Inside, I knew he was hiding much more, and I am determined to find out.
There was a sudden knock in our front door. We both froze. Who could be here at this moment?
"Emily?" They called from outside the door. My heart fell. It was the same voice from my dream. Even though I thought the person in my dream may not be me, I still had some hope.
Hope that the person who had just called me may be the person I have longed for all my life.
The person who the little me met and talked so cheerfully with.
Seth went and opened the door. "You may come in, Emily is currently in her room" I heard him say.
"Yes, please take me to her." The voice replied.
"Of course." Seth responded.
My heart felt like it could burst out any second as I felt the footsteps come closer to me. Nervousness was all I felt that moment, with a small spark of happiness in me.
Standing in the door, I saw him. The same person from my dream. I was able to see his face clearly right now.
