What's A Mutant to Do?

"Oh, Dave... what happened to you? J-just.... why?" an orange, mutated Wayne Timburg said as he placed his hands flat on his face in regret.
Now Wayne Timburg is a wolf-chameleon hybrid and a dear pal to his only human friend, Dave, a contestant from Pahkitew Island. Upon first glance, Dave thought of him as being a bit weird for his appearance. But over time, they grew close to each other to be the best of BFFs. The hybrid had always thoughts on him, even when he was away from Canada. But as long as their friendship remained intact, he knew nothing else would be in his way. But today, this might change....

We see plenty of cobwebs in a cave that was the current home of Shawn, a mutated spider hybrid with his lover from the outback and Pahkitew finalist, Jasmine. Everything seemed to be peaceful and calm as they were safe from the deranged, rampant mutant. Well.... not everyone. Wayne Timburg, who has also been exposed to toxic waste a little while ago, mutated like everybody else, was seen sitting on a corner on the side, hugging his legs with ears drooped down in sadness.

He had just encountered the poor, heartbroken mutant, extremely worried about his condition after both the finale and the effects of the mutation. Not only that the mutation appeared to mostly corrupt his mind with pain and hatred, but also to inflict potential damage upon the people he has met on the show.

Wayne just simply sat, burying his elongated snout in shame and regret, depressed about the very fact that the only human companion he ever cared for, has drastically turned into a raging monstrosity on a deadly thirst for the one thing on his corrupt brain: revenge.

"How did I let this happen? I feel so stupid!" Wayne blames himself. "You go out to save your friend from the worst, and for what? This happens! I should've auditioned for the show before all this. It's my fault...."

"No Wayne, it's not." a female voice called out to him before he turns into a sad shade of blue. He perked up his ears and turned to see Emmy, an anthropomorphic female dragon who had also been friends with him for who knows how long. Yes, she was there with him about the whole Dave issue, but she hated to see her friend grieve over the sanity of his best friend. She walked to him silently and placed her hand on his arm and said, "It's not your fault, Wayne."
Wayne spat back, "Yes it is! You see? If it wasn't for that video, I never would've auditioned to support my friend in the first place! You saw what he has become!"
"Don't blame it on yourself. You did what you had to do. Besides, it was all Chris McLean's fault. That stupid host should've got punishment he deserved. But he just had to get away with it that season, now did he?!"
"Of course... it's all McLean! He always has to butt in and ruin a perfect moment, now does he?!" He then growls, "When I get my hands on him, I am gonna rip him to...." But Emmy stops him before he can continue his little rant, "Hold it! You're getting a bit off topic here! Save that for a later time!" she stopped him.
"Sorry", Wayne apologized.

Emmy sits with the saddened wolf/chameleon mutant to comfort him, "I know, I know. You're completely concerned about him. To tell you the truth, I'm actually worried about him as much as you are. But am I upset? Yeah.... but I believe we'll find some way to get him to come back to his senses."
"I know... but how?" he asked her. She assured him, "Who knows? Until we can think of a way to contain him, all we have to do now is wait." For Wayne, he was unsure, but then quickly reluctantly agreed to take some sweet time to sit and wait, "Okay, thanks so much. For now....."

"How are you doin' over there, Shawn?" she called to him. He looks over and responds with a wave, meaning there is no sign of Dave yet. "Alright, thanks man! Keep an eye out!" she thanks him and he nods. Emmy and Wayne both lay down as a single tear streams down his face, expecting of what's next to come.
