Face to face with death.

In the hospital.

I woke up and found myself lying in an hospital bed,how I got here I didn't know  but I guess my heart failed me once again. I had the oxygen mask on to support me in breathing. I felt so weak yet I couldn't recall a thing just when I was drowning in thoughts the doctor came in.

Doc. — Hello Marya I can see your already up.

Marya – What happened? I cant remember how I got here.

I knew the doctor would enfold the whole incident to me.

Doc. – you were unconscious when you got here, a young man brought you,he said he was your friend,

Marya – his name,did he say?

Doc – yeah,his name was Leo....

Marya – Leon??

Doc.– yes,that's right.. Any way you should rest and remember stress is not good for your health especially your heart,okay?

Marya – yes doc. Thanks.

How comes Leon was the one who brought me here,as far as I can remember I was in our room. Still I don't understand why I got  unconscious, its been four years since I last got confined in an hospital.

Leon's POV.

I was so shocked and terrified when I found Marya lying their unconscious, I didn't know what happened to her but I was glad I got in right on time to save her.
The doc told me she was awake and I could see her now.
She was there in the bed looking so pale and weak,I felt so sad seeing her that way if only I could trade myself for her I would have done so without thinking twice. She slowly turned to face me with a weak smile on her face.

Marya - thanks Leo....

She strained so much to let those words out.

Leo - Don't mention am just glad I got in time to save you.

Marya - can you please call Kate for me?

Leon - I already did she's on her way now.

Marya - That's so nice of you,now lemme inform my mum.

Leon - okay.

(After some minutes.)
Kate - hello guys.....Marya what happened sweety?

Leon - hello.

Marya - am doing great dear no worry.

Just then Daniel entered.

Daniel -Marya,,,,,sorry I heard about what happened and came right away.

Marya - thanks but who told you?

Kate - I did.(after receiving the call from Leon I got so scared and immediately called Dan.)

Daniel's POV.

It was so unbearable seeing Marya in this condition knowing I couldn't do anything to help. I decided to go see her doctor to clearly know what was really happening. I excused myself and vacated the room. Leon must have felt relieve for he considered me his rival. With Marya's condition I wont do anything to stress her out. If she doesn't want to see me I'll respect that, the only thing I want now is for her life to return back to normal. Happy and healthy just the way she was before crossing paths with me again.

I went to the doc. And he told me that her heart was so weak and she needed a heart transplant immediately. The only thing now was to see if they can find a donor whose heart will match hers before its too late.

Daniel - How will that happen? I mean who will agree to give his own life.....

Doc. - You see Dan,we always talk to those family's whose loved ones have been in a coma for so many years to donate the organs and help save the lives of others.

Dan - does it always work?

Doc. - sometimes ,we can't guarantee you anything.

Dan - Thanks for your time.

Doc. - welcome, you sure love her don't you?

Dan - more than you can imagine if possible I'll trade mine for hers.

Doc. - Don't rush child, think carefully you too have a family that loves and cares for you. You may go now see you some other day.

(The next day in the hospital.)

Dan and the doc. Met again after there previous discussion. But this time the docs face looked shocked and worried, whatever they talked about must have been serious,really serious.

Daniels POV.

It was a hard choice but I had to do it in order to save my only loves life. What was the use of staying alive when the one that keeps me breathing won't be there. As I enter the room she seemed to be very happy with Leon but that immediately changed when she saw me. Seeing her happy was all I wanted more than anything and if Leon can give her that then so be it.

" hello Marya,sorry for irritating you but this is the last time you would be seeing me,I just came to say goodbye."

(Right now tears were starting to form in my eyes.)
"What are you saying Danny,am okay with you visiting."

"Am glad to hear that but am going on a trip you won't be seeing me,so am now saying goodbye and get well soon."

I left the room so hurt,it was a choice I made myself .I went back to the doc to know the date for the operation and ensured I wrote a letter for Marya plus a video explaining my actions and how much have always loved and will continue loving her.

The operation was going to be a week from now,my mum didn't know anything concerning my plans and I wasn't planning to tell her. If I did am sure she wouldn't allow me to push with the procedure. I was ready to die in order to save the woman whom have ever loved.

Bumping into Marya's mum.
      On my way out I bumped into a woman who looked so familiar,gosh!
It was Marya's mum, I saw the look on her face when she realized that it was me. I could clearly see the anger in her eyes she never forgave me for the incident I caused many years back when Marya and I were still in high school.

"You?? What the hell are you doing here?" She was so furious.

"Am sorry...." She didn't let me finish what I wanted to say.

"Keep that sorry to yourself and stay away from Marya." 

I couldn't blame her for hating me that much,what I did in the past was so terrible and traumatizing. I just left and went back to our room in the hostel. I found Austin reading,our exams were in the corner . I just jumped into the bed and fell asleep. Hoping that my head will cool down a bit.
