When Natsu woke up he was tied to a pole in the middle of a room. There was a boy in the same position across from him. He had blue hair and had a intricate red tattoo over and under his right eye. He looked as bad as Natsu felt, which is to say, horrible. He was covered in cuts and bruises and his head hung limply to the side. His short, black chiton was covered in dust and was thoroughly torn. Natsu looked down at what he was wearing, a white chiton, the same type as the boy across from him though a little less torn. Natsu took in his surroundings. Stone walls, glass ceiling for some odd reason, two poles in the center, with the rooms occupants chained to them. The chains holding him were meant to hold demigods. They were unbreakable and were resistant to heat. They also seemed to force Natsu's power to the very recesses of his body. A rattle snapped him from his inner musings. The blue haired boy was waking up. He groaned and seem to be in a bit of a daze. Then his head shot up. "Where am I? Who are you? What's happening? Why is my power being shoved down?" Natsu let out a huff of air. "Look, I don't know any more than you do. All I know is that I was attacked and captured in the woods outside of Sparta. I'm Natsu by the way. Son of Heaphustus. And you are......" "Jellal Fernandes. Son of Apollo. I'm from Athens by the way. Judging from what I heard from the others in my city, the Romans have been capturing demigods and parading them around the city as some kind of freak. They're then either sent to fight in the Coliseum or sold off as slaves." His voice trailed off as footsteps sounded right outside the room they were kept in. The door was flung open and three guards stepped in. Two of them went and undid Jellal and Natsu's arms from the pole, only to have them bound behind their backs once more. Heavy chains wrapped around their necks and ankles, forcing them to keep their heads bowed. They were pulled down one hallway and up the next as they were so rudely dragged. Light shown faintly at the end of one long corridor and Natsu had to squint to see what was ahead. He stumbled after a particularly hard pull from the guards, and nearly fell on his face. He thought back to what Jellal had said. He prayed to his father that he would make this out okay and that, even though they just met, the blue-haired son of Apollo would be with him.
They were led to a huge courtyard where they were rebound to a huge pillar, hands above their heads, side by side. A man wearing a expensive looking, purple toga stepped out onto the stage. A small crowd had gathered at the edges of the courtyard, all rich looking people. The man on the stage started to speak. "Today we have captured two demigods. A son of Apollo and a son of Heaphustus. There are two ways to dispose of them. Send them to fight in the Arena, or sell them off." The chants surrounding Jellal and Natsu were all about the Arena. Both boys were thoroughly terrified at the thought of the Arena and tried to break free. The butt of a spear to the gut stopped all attempts. Apparently the gods were not with them. Then the shout rang out. "Why let Pluto take them quickly? Sell them off! Let them pay for their parents crimes!" A man and a woman shoved their way forward. "We'll take them. Those boys parents must have been awful to attract two of the twelve Olympians. We'll make them pay in a tenfold!" The man in purple nodded and Natsu's hands were pulled forward. He struggled, but only succeeding in getting a cuff up the head that made him see stars. Jellal was in the same predicament as him. Then both the boys made eye contact with each other as they realized that their hand were bound with normal rope. Natsu's hands were instantly surrounded by flames as Jellal's began to glow with a bright golden light. Just as they were about to run, another blow to the back of his head made Natsu tumble to the ground as his conciseness left him for the second time that day.
