This story was written when I was about 13 years old, so yes it's corny and no I don't plan on editing it. I like to see how I improved over the years. But thank you for reading!
The town was always lively. It was a beautiful town right by the ocean. And that ocean was their main food supply, they always ate fish and sushi...All seafood. It was rare to have something else! But everyone liked the seafood, so there was really no need to have something else.
The buildings were all made of seashells. It was an interesting material to build houses, but it did work if they'd pack it correctly. The roofs were made of fish scales too. It's waterproof so when it rains, it'll just slide right off! But the walking area, wasn't made out of something from the ocean. That was just made from regular brick. Even though the town was far in the ocean, they could ride a boat to land, where a large forest grows.
And among that town, is where an sixteen year old girl named Sophia lives. (Pic to right!) She lives with a younger brother named Sora, and she still has her two parents, Linda, and Steve. They are a loving family, and they live right at the edge of town. Their house wasn't as big as the others, but they didn't care.
Now Linda had blond hair and blue eyes with a pale heart-shaped face. She loved to wear skirts and a nice shirt with high heels. And Steve, had dirty blond hair with blue eyes. He usually wore just plain old jeans with a polo shirt and sneakers. He had a full grown mustache and had to wear glasses. And Sora, wore a simple white shirt, red shorts, and red sandals.
At this moment, Sophia was currently practicing her skills. She's teaching herself how to weild a sword...But it wasn't a real sword. It was just a plain wooden sword.
She slashed at the dummy she had made from seashells. But right before she hit it again, Sora came up from behind her and pinched her sides. Sophia was really ticklish there, so she squealed and she ended up dropping her sword. She then whipped around to smack whoever had pinched her, but when she saw it was just six year old brother, she sighed and glared at him.
"Sora..." She scolded. "I told you to stop doing that!"
Sora shrugged before he ran over to the fallen wooden sword. He picked it up and got into a fighting stance. "I wanna play too!" He exclaimed. He pretended to hit something as he grinned. "You gotta make me one sometime!"
Sophia walked over to him and politely plucked the sword from his grasp. "I'm sorry." She said as she wiped dirt off the tip. "But mom and dad said that you're too young to have your own." When Sora pouted, Sophia just chuckled. "But I guess you can use mine."
Sora's frown turned upside down as he smiled. "Really?! Awesome!" He jumped into the air to grab the sword from Sophia. When he landed on the ground, Sophia took that moment to place her hands on his shoulders to keep him from jumping too much. "Lemme go!" Sora said as he struggled. But he couldn't get free from his sister's strong grip.
"Calm down." Sophia instructed. Once Sora had done so, she told him how to handle the sword. "Now, different people hold a sword differently. You know the way I hold it; in my right hand while my arm is across my chest, so the blade is almost resting on my shoulder."
"Yeah I know but..." Sora turned his head to peek over his shoulder so he could see Sophia. "But why do you hold it like that?"
Sophia shrugged in reply. "Because I feel comfortable that way. So anyway, I want you to hold the sword the way you feel comfortable."
Sora squatted down a bit and he grabbed the sword with both hands. The sword was to the side of him, so he could easily swing at enemies. He then smiled. "Like this?"
