So that was my Friday night: Claire’s beyond odd antics, my sudden change in emotions (from hurt to suspicion to…lust) and Kay. The memory of her fiery red hair and liquid silver eyes was burnt into my brain and was the first thing I thought about when I opened my eyes at 3pm. I got up at 3:15 and in those fifteen minutes the memory of Kay seemed to turn into a distant dream. When I finally emerged from my en suite shower I flopped down on my bed in just a towel and went through the events of last night…or this morning technically.
I think I had convinced myself the night was just a messed up dream but when I sat up, the sight of Kay’s white leather jacket sitting neatly on my desk chair left no question. I picked up the jacket and smiled until I heard the familiar tone of my door bell. Because I knew nobody would be in at this time, I threw on the first clothes my hand found, a white button down shirt and black shorts, before I bounded down the stairs. My still damp blonde hair clung to my shoulders and back and dripped on to my shirt, making it ever so slightly more see through than it already was.
When I opened the door I expected it just to be my brother, home hungover from yet another night of drinking, or maybe my dad home early from work but it was neither of them. Those unmistakable liquid silver eyes told me so. One winked at me and I bit my bottom lip. It was less than 13 hours since I had seen her last but Kay’s beauty struck me as if I hadn’t seen her before.
She smiled and looked down at my still smooth legs (thank god), up to my stomach and her eyes seemed to linger on my chest. She eventually looked up to my eyes and gave a mischievous smile which was probably her most noticeable trait.
“Morning,” she giggled lightly, showing her gleaming white teeth. She seemed to have a problem keeping her eyes level with mine…
“What are you laughing…” I began before I looked down at myself before I realised that the cold (or maybe it was Kay) had gotten my nipples hard causing them to poke straight through my then shirt. “Oh shit” I said embarrassed and I crossed my arms over my chest self-consciously “Oh crap…erm…its 3 o clock. It’s not morning.
“I’m one of the laziest people you will ever meet. Morning’s till about 5 hun…depending on how bright it is.”
“Well this is afternoon for the rest of the world. But I bet you’ve been up for hours having a good laugh at making me think I was delusional.” I leaned on the doorframe accusingly which caused her to bow her head slightly, making her rouged locks that were tucked behind her ears fall forward and frame her face in gentle waves.
She looked up at me and my breathing stopped. Have you ever seen a human girl give you the most perfect puppy dog eyes? So perfect that your lips part and your mouth fill with saliva? You take a slow step towards them and your eyelids lower in a look of pure wanting? That’s what her look did to me. “Can I come in please?” she whispered huskily as she continued to stare deep into my eyes.
I was finding it hard to think. Her body was two feet from mine, I could smell her sweet perfume and saw the flecks of copper on her cheeks that I hadn’t spotted before. “W…will you tell me what I want to know?”
“I’ll tell you what I can Jessie. But first tell me what your last name is.”
“Prayer,” I blurted out without thinking. “Now come in.” I almost whined that last part which only made her smile wider. She took a step towards me but instead of passing me to go inside, she toyed with me by kissing the fullest part of my cheek before she leaned back.
“I’ll see you very soon Jessica Prayer.” She whispered against my ear before she spun effortlessly on the balls of her feet and strode away. I watched her go in utter confusion before I huffed in frustration and went back inside and up to my room. I sat on my bed and looked down at my still hard nipples which were now accompanied by a faint blush that had crept up my chest.
You met her once and she’s already doing this to you? Get a grip, I instructed myself before I sighed and went to check my phone. 1 text. It was from an unknown number and it read,
Very soon. ;)
