After listening to different varieties of music, Brady turned the speaker off to save the battery. The sun disappeared, leaving the sky in a turquoise color.
When he stuffed the speaker back inside his bag, he looked over at Heather and Lindsay. "So now what do we do?" He asked. "Well, I'm hungry, but I don't know what I want." Lindsay said.
"I have hot dogs, but they're not cooked." Heather replied. "Damn, alright give me one." Lindsay replied. Heather then reached for the cooler and opened it.
She saw the hot dogs inside the ice and grabbed one from the pack. She then handed it to Lindsay. "Try to wait till it's a little warm." Heather said, then Lindsay nodded.
Brady, being too bored, he stood up and walked to the opening again. He sat at the edge and looked at stars that filled the light blue sky. "God, this is beautiful!" He said.
Heather turned to see what Brady was talking about. She gasped as she saw the night sky's beautiful gleam. "Wow. Boy do I wish Stephen was here."
As the roads got darker, Jack kept his instantaneous speed while watching for the train. "God, I didn't think it would be this far away." He said to himself.
"Ugh... What happened?" Stephen said as he slowly raised his head. When he saw Jack driving, his heart began to race as all he remembered was falling off the train. "Hey Stephen." Jack said casually.
Stephen blinked a few times before sitting up from the seat. "Hey Jack... What are we doing in a car?" Stephen asked. "Uh... Long story, let's just say I saved your ass, twice." Jack said.
Stephen was interested, "What do you mean?" "I jumped out the train to get you, then we got a ride from a stranger. But I knocked him out and took his car after trying to strangle me."
Stephens eyes widened by Jacks answer. "Damn, I'm sorry." Stephen said. Jack smiled, "Now you know better than to call me a crybaby?" Jack asked.
Stephen chuckled, "Yeah... I shouldn't have said anything about your sister, you must really miss her." He said. Jacks smile disappeared as he thought of Jane, "Yeah, I do." He replied.
He then pushed the gas a bit harder as there were no cars. "Hold on tight, were getting back on that train." He made a slow turn, causing the car to go off-road.
When he got next to the tracks, he kept his roaring speed going. Stephen held onto his seat belt as he was always terrified of Jack behind the wheel. "Why do you people get so scared? It's fun!"
"It's dangerous!" Stephen yelled. Jack laughed, "Your a football player Stephen, you should have more guts than a stupid Junior right?" Jack said as he starred at Stephen through the rear view mirror. "Your not stupid Jack... Just careless!" Stephen replied.
Brady and the others put their jackets on and got ready to sleep, when they all layed down, all they heard was the rumble of the tracks.
"Night guys." Heather said. "Night." Lindsay and Brady replied. When it was silent, they all closed their eyes and began to drift off.
An hour went by, and Brady woke up to hear a different noise. He sat up and began to think it was a car. Paranoia kicked in as he quickly got up and looked outside.
He saw a truck following the train at the same speed. "Guys! Wake up!" Heather slowly opens her eyes, "What Brady?" "There's a car following us." Heather opened her eyes and sat up.
"Are you sure it's not-" "Listen." Heather listened for anything, then heard the second engine in the distance. "Oh god, who is that?" Heather asked. "Who knows." Brady mumbled.
"If it's the cops were done for!" Heather said. "If it was the cops, the lights would be on, so would the sirens." Brady said. "Not unless they're trying to keep a low profile." Heather said.
She walked over to Lindsay who was still sleeping. "Hey sleepyhead, wake up. We gotta problem." Lindsay woke up and looked up at both of them.
"What?" "A car is following us, I think we might need to pack and get ready." Heather said. Lindsay quickly got up and looked outside. She noticed the truck was at the side of the train.
"Guys, we got company!" Lindsay yelled. The three then dashed to their hiding spots and waited for the truck to pass. They heard the engine roar closer until it was next to their cart.
Jack rolled the window down and couldn't see anyone. "Hey! You guys there?!" "Holy shit, was that Jack!?" Heather asked.
Brady quickly peeked his head out, and sure enough, it was his buddy. "Ayy Brady, everyone else still on there?!" Jack yelled.
Everyone came out in perfect timing. "Yeah, how did you get a car?!" Brady asked. "Long story, I gotta get me and Stephen ahead of the train to get on!" Jack yelled, then he stepped on the gas, making the car disappear from Brady's sight.
"Oh my god, they're okay! They're okay!" Lindsay said while trying to calm down. "Damn, who knew Jack could get a car in the middle of nowhere!" Brady said.
"Actually, I don't think we're in the middle of nowhere." Heather said. "What do you mean?" Brady asked calmly. "We're close to our destination! I can see windmills!" Heather yelled as she had joy in her eyes.
"Oh god, that means we don't need the train no more." Heather's celebration stopped once she heard what Brady said. "Shit, we need to let Jack and Stephen know!" "Right, but... How?" He asked.
As Mr. Yots drove around in the dark, he spots a man that was walking towards his direction. He stops his car and opens the door. "Sir, whats your name?" He asked. The man locked eyes on Mr. Yots with his dark eyes.
"My name is Cory." The man tells the officer. "Cory I'm gonna need you to tell me why your here at night." "My car got stolen by a kid and his friend."
"A kid? What was his name?" Cory thought for a moment. "Tyler I believe, but he seemed rather jumpy." Mr. Yots told Cory to describe what he looked like.
When he did so, Mr. Yots connected all the answers to Jacks identity. "Thank you for your time, do you need a ride?" "Yes, please." Cory said.
