eds picked up a cigarette before opening the front door. eddie ran out of the house, tears still falling down his face.
"fuck them. fuck will. fuck mike..."
he started jogging to the pond behind the park mike and him went to for a date once. the night sky turned black, and the wind was chilly. his nose started turning a cute red as well as his ears.
he sat down on a bench and dropped his bags, and pulling out the cancer stick. he wiped the tears off his face with his oversized sleeve, making the soft fabric wet. he pulled out mike's lighter and held the stick in his mouth, lighting the nicotine and inhaling it. the smoke burned his throat and lungs, but he didn't even cough. just sat still watching the stars on the isolated, wooden bench.
mike and will ran outside and had no clue where eddie was, before mike suggested they check the park. they ran the fastest their long legs could take, and almost falling when they got to the park. no eddie in sight. will heard quick , soft sobs in the distance.
they walked swiftly through the park into the pond, hidden in the dark they heard eddie crying by himself. eddie exhaled the smoke before throwing the stick on the ground and stomping on it.
will walked up to him first, not wanting to scare him.
"hey, eddie..."
"leave me the fuck alone."
"we want to apologize."
"fuck you."
"look, we're sorry, eds-"
"don't call me that."
"okay, we're sorry eddie. we both love you so much. i guess it got the best of mike and i."
"i love you guys too, i just... i'm sick of you two bickering every time you see each other. it was fine before i came, and now you two are fucking enemies because of a stupid, fucking emotion. love isn't as important as friendship, and if you think so... i think it's fine for me to leave so you can learn."
"if you leave us, i swear to god, eds. i'll find you. i love you so much, you're the reason i'm trying." mike whispered into his ear.
eddie started crying even more, he missed his bed at the moment. why did this have to happen? eds thought.
"why. why me?"
"..."
"mike, if you couldn't tell. el is fucking in love with you, she hates me for it. why couldn't you love her?..."
"and will. there's so many hot ass fucking boys at our school, so why me?"
"because you're the only one i ever fucking loved, eds."
"you're amazing, eddie. you always take care of us and you actually care. you're adorable as hell and you're super smart. you're the literal damn definition of perfect."
eddie stood up for hugging the two boys, who held on to eddie as if he was going to die.
"i miss my friends back to home, you're all so different. my ex boyfriend, richie looks really similar to you, mike. and will, you kind of remind me of my old best friend, billy. maine was terrifying though, really homophobic. i almost got killed for holding rich's hand. fuck, i don't miss that place."
will first gave eddie a quick kiss on the lips, and mike gave him a passionate kiss.
"we're all glad you're here, eddie."
"we all love you."
