chapter one

"Once there was a Demon Lord that tried to throw the world in to utter darkness. He would take the townsfolk nightmares and form them into hideous Night Terrors!

" Creatures made of dark energy that feast off of fear and negative emotions which He would gather with the help of little demons called screamers. The screamers would cling to humans and absorb their lifeforce. With this he would use the negative emotions to fuel his magic. Unfortunately for the people, they could not see the demons, and only children and animals could see the horrifying creatures. Although, there were a few with the gift to see the monsters, they were a group of powerful wizards be the name of Spellzars. Determined to imprison the Demon Lord in another demention, they fought for the sake of their world.

"The war lasted for years, but finally was ended when the wizards imprisoned the Demon Lord in another demention with the help of four special amulets. As long as he was in that demention, he could do no harm to anyone. But alas, the wizard still feared that someone could use the amulets for harm. So to ensure the world's safety, the powerful wizards broke the amulets up in to 56 individual pieces and hid them in artifacts on an uninhabited island. They believed that thanks to this, the Demon Lord could never be released. To this day he is still imprisoned in that realm. But to say if some fool where to find all the pieces to the amulets and release him, our world as we know it would be cast into a lifetime of darkness and terror." Hmmm. It's this story again. The one that grandmother told me when I was a kid. Now, how does it end agai-

"JACKIE! WAKE UP OR YOU ARE GOING TO MISS THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!" A young voice yells, jumping on to her sister.

" WHAAAAA! Kristal don't do that you almost gave me a heart atta-" Before she could finish another voice came from the hallway.

"Jackie you are going to be late for school." It took a few seconds to sink in until. "WHAAAAA! Amethyst why didn't you wake me earlier!" She says as she dashes across the room to get dressed.

Hi, I'm Jackie Trax. I just moved into this apartment complex three days ago, so my sisters have been helping me unpack. I can't wait! This year I will be a freshman at Winter Hill High, which once was an all boys boarding school, until this year when it became co-ed. Unfortunately, because of that the girls dorm is not done being built so all the girls have to find a place to stay for now until they are finished. I decided to stay in an apartment complex near the school, but granted the apartment is very close to campus and very cheap.... well there's this big old structure that completely hides the building. The owners say its due to a company that had bought it just to spite the previous owners of the building. But later the company ended up going out of business and well, that's how this happened.

Anyway, I am still excited to be going to highschool. I hope everyone is nice because well .... I am shy around people sometimes. Actually my 12 year old sister Amethyst prefers to call it, me 'being very conscious of the opposite sex do to lack of interaction and determination.' It's not my fault I don't want a boyfriend but if I reply with that, then Kristal my other sister( who is 10) would retort with 'are you sure it's not that no guy is interested in you and that is why you have no Boyfriend!' o////o BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING I AM TOTALLY NOT BLUSHING AND THEY ARE WRONG I ....... just do not want a boyfriend and I'm just too shy to ask anyone out. But anyway I will not let a few social problems get me down. I will face this my way.

" JACKIE!!!! ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?!! YOU ONLY HAVE FIVE MINUTES TO GET TO SCHOOL!!! " Kristal yells pulling me from my train of thought and in result almost giving me a heart attack .

"Oh! Jackie that reminds me." Amethyst runs off to her luggage and then comes back with her hands behind her back."Grandma wanted me to give this to you as a good luck charm." She says holding out a beautiful music box.

" Thank you so much and please give Grandma a big hug from me." They both nodded, we exchange goodbye hugs, and I leave for my first day of school. To tell the truth I was really sad to leave home to go to this school, but if I told them that I'd feel bad. This is the school my dad went to when he was younger and to go to this school would make him happy since I am the oldest and he has three girls and no boys. Doing this is a way of saying thanks for all you have done for me.

This is one strange town? City? place. Even though this is the city the back ways are so quiet and there is a forest nearby too. It's so weird if you start going to the north or west you will get engulfed in to a huge crowds of bissy city people. But if you go to the south or east you will walk straight in to a quiet town. "Oh there it is!" there it is my new school, Winter Hill High! oh it look's like a nice place although ... I guess grandma was right, I see gust about no girls. !? Wait a minute. I see absolutely no girls at all! But where are they? Did i get the wrong school? I had to have gotten the wrong school because there is no was I can't possibly be the only girl! I think I am going to cry. NO I can't cry at SCHOOL if the others see than that will make fun of me!

Hu? someone suddenly touches my shoulder and I turn around in hope it is some one who could help me...... I ternaround to see a man that looks about 22 or 23 behind me, with blond hair and hazel eyes. Could he be a student's brother or was he held back a few times? I wonder. He seems really nice and scary at the same time. "Hello miss. Sorry but I'm afraid you have to head down to the headmaster's office. Because the school resoundly became coed he will be the one personally explaining the rules to the girls." he informs me as a sensation of nervousness rolls over me.

The headmaster's office? Great I that explains why I'm the only one here. Ug! This is too embarrassing! And where is the office any way? Oh I really don't want to ask and seem like an idiot! Uhg! I hate new schools! He start to look sincere and that's when I realised that I was not masking my feelings. Suddenly he plases his hand on my shooter again.

"Don't worry everything will be fine and there's no need to try to hide that you are worried. It is only normal that a girl would be nevus of getting in trouble or going by herself. It is only genetic." Excuse Me? What did he just say? Is he stereotyping women as being timid and very fragile!

"Hahaha! You got that right Mr.T! Hey little girl you want me to walk you there? Hahah!" A boy replies. What is wrong with the these two!? GRRR! This sucks! I'm so mad! I so want to tell them off for that! But I need to be sweat and nice or I won't get any friends. After that, then I will smash there heads in to a brick wall.

" Excuse me but do one of you mind telling me where the headmasters office is?" I say trying to sound as nice as possible. The Blond boy or Mr.T then shooed off the other boy and turned back to me.

"Why? You want me to escort you there or could it be you have fallen for me?" he says with a great big cheshire cat smile. Ok that's it this guy's pretty face is about to meet my fist if he says one more word!!!!

" Can't you idiots ever pic on someone your own size or at least as dumb as you." All of a sudden I hear a feminine voice come from behind him and I start to calm down.

"Hey! How dare you call your senpai an idiot..." he trails off as he turns around to see a freshman girl with raven black hair and pretty teal eyes standing behind him.

"Hay, Are you heading to the medmasters office two? We are supposed to go in from the back entrance. Did you not get the message?" The girl with raven hair told me.

"what? Oh... my data won't come on untill next week and I had exceeded my texting limit 3 days ago so nothing will go through to me till tomorrow." I try my best to explain but she just looks at me like I have ten heads and then glares at me.

"You know I hate people that make up excuses just to not look bad." she says in a irritated voice.

Wait what happened to nice girl helping me out and why is she assuming that I am not telling the truth!? Is everyone at this school insain!? I AM SOOO ANGRY! GERRRR!

"I'm sorry but I am pretty sure you know nothing about me so could you NOT assume things about me WITHOUT EVEN GIVING ME A CHANCE! With that said I think we should head to where we are needed." As I talk I start to walk out the gate and head to the back like she said to do. All the way I can feel her glaring at me from behind.
