New Year New Life (A Glee Story)

Chapter One

My new life began as I walked through the doors of William McKinley High School. Life for me has always been tough. I had a bad childhood so that made me switch schools a lot. I recently moved to Ohio and transferred here so I hope I'll have a better life here. I walked in and immediately felt scared. There were people everywhere. From jocks talking to cheerleaders on one side, to people putting things in their lockers on the other side. I looked at all these people and didn't know which way to go.

     "Are you okay?" A girl asked. "You look lost". She seemed friendly so I smiled at her.

     "I just transferred here and have no clue where I am", I replied. She took my arm and told me to follow her. "Can I have your name?"

     "I'm Lucia Imraa Lopez, but just call me Lucia", she said while following me into the classroom. There was a variety of different people in this room. I saw a kid in a wheelchair, a guy with a really nice fashion sense, a girl who loved to be the lead, a strong, proud black woman as she yelled, a shy quiet girl in the corner, a blonde kid who called himself white chocolate, a tall guy who didn't know what was going on, someone with a bowtie and tons of gel in his hair, and an Asian girl. I sat down in the back and everyone looked at me.

     "Alright guys, let's get to work"! A man said as he came into the room. "Oh hello. I don't recognize you".

     "She's new here", Lucia said, putting her hand on my shoulder so I wouldn't feel alone.

     "Welcome to the New Directions. I'm Mr. Schuester. You'll have a great time here".

      "Can she sing?" the girl who loves to be the lead asked. "I'm Rachel by the way". My face turned red. There was no way I could sing in front of everyone.

     "Um....I-I can't", I hesitated.

     "Aw, come on", Mr Schue encouraged. He took my hand and took me to the middle of the room. "Can you tell me your name?"

     "It's Amy", I answered quietly. "I don't think I can do this". Mr Schue smiled at me and sat down. I started to sing and felt everyone's eyes on me.

Amy:

Crashing, hit a wall

As I sang the first part of the song, everyone looked at me with smiles on their faces. Rachel, however, looked at me with a dropped jaw and a shocked look in her eye. I think she was a little jealous.

They all started cheering and clapping as I went on to sing the song. Rachel got even more mad as she found out how good I was.

Running out of time

But now there's nobody by my side

Everyone in Glee club besides Rachel started dancing around me and I felt really good about singing in front of everyone

I looked at Mr Schue and he looked me with a big smile on his face. I can tell he was proud.

I started to dance with the others around me and Rachel seemed jealous. I wasn't trying to show I was better than her.

     "Now that's a solo!" Mr Schue beamed. I had just survived my first day of Glee Club.
