Farkley,

It hurts to hear that Lucas would take the front line, but we know him to be the volunteer. I will not inform Maya though. I can not. Maya is having a hard time right now, missing him. She is hurting, depressed. Do not tell Lucas, please, she does not want him to worry too much. And I do not want you to worry too much.

I also must inform you of something, sadly, your wife, Isadora, has been seen quite a few times with a young African American man. I do not know if they are having an affair, but that is the word on the street. I am so sorry, Farkley, I never thought of Isadora that way. I am always here for you. Just a letter away. I love you, Farkle. I do. You will always be my best male friend, even more so than Lucas. I miss you terribly and I can not wait until you return and we can hit the town. One restaurant at a time until there is no food left.

                 Your best friend, forever
                           Riley Matthews
