Lion Guard: Neema the Leopard

Chapter 18: (1-25-2018)

-Pridelands-

Nne and Tano peek out from inside a bush in the pridelands. Nne looks around and smirks. "see Tano we don't need Janja. We got into the pridelands all by ourselves and nobody even saw us yet."

"your right." Tano exclaims excitedly.

"all we have to do now is lay low in this green patch here and we can eat our fill of whatever passes by, living out the rest of our day in retired comfort." Nne backs out of the bush and into a small clearing within a circle of bushes. In the center of the clearing is a small tree which stretches its leaves over the tops of the bushes making a nice shaded rain proof area to rest and hide. "keep an eye out for anything we can eat I'm getting hungry."

"ug... ok?" Tano says watching through the bush. A few moments later he spots a leopard in the distance darting around stealthily. "um... hey Nne... do you also see that leopard over there or am I just crazy?"

"what?" Nne grumbles pushing through the bush. "that... that can't be right... aside from Neema leopards don't come out this way." The two hyena watch very carefully from their hiding place as the leopard darts around the area between shaded places. "that leopard clearly isn't hunting anything... there are no animals out here to hunt."

"what is she doing do you think?" Tano questions.

"well it looks like she is scouting the area." Nne replies. "the kind of recon you do before starting a war..."

"the leopards wouldn't start a war with the pride landers? That'd be ridiculous." Tano replies.

Nne raises an eyebrow curiously as the leopard seems to stop and stare at priderock. "unless somebody else has told them where to find the weak point of the pride." He glances at Tano. "did you forget just a bit ago the king was injured in the fight against the outland pride. If the leopards caught wind of this, they might try to take this land. It'd be scar times 100... we have to warn somebody about this."

"but we turned our backs on the pack... and we can't just stroll up to Simba and say... hey Simba nice day we're having hey did you know that leopards are spying on priderock. How do we know? Well we've been hiding in the pridelands."

"your right." Nne frowns with his ears back. "we have no choice then... we must go back to the pack and hope Janja will be willing to hear us out. If he won't then maybe Neema can get a message to the lion guard." He turns to face a small formation of rocks not far away. "I will go myself you stay here until the leopard leaves. Then try to catch us some breakfast."

"alright Nne. Good luck." Tano nods.

Nne bolts for the rocks unseen by the leopard.

-outlands-

Janja is laying on the edge of a thin rick that juts out over the ground. Jasiri pads up to the rock and smirks. "napping already Janja? But the day just started?"

Janja opens his eyes a tiny bit and frowns. "look I didn't get much sleep last night and frankly I'm not too worried about you leading for a while." He puts his head down again with his ears back. "so yeah I'm taking a nap..."

"what's the matter Janja?" Jasiri replies leaping up the rock next to Janja. "you've been kind of... off... lately."

"nothing." Janja replies. "everything is peaceful and nothing bad is going on... aside from that weird feeling." He grumbles. "I guess... I'm just kind of bored."

"oh I see." Jasiri hops down of the rock again and smirks up at Janja. "well maybe we should go for a walk eh?"

"hm?" Janja glances down at Jasiri. "why would I do that?"
