I tried to yell for help, but quickly realized a thick strip of rope was tied around my mouth. I inhaled through my nose, trying desperately to avoid the tears that inevitably escaped from my eyes.

I tried to stand, and as my eyes adjusted to the light, I realized I was in the back of a truck.
My chest tightened as I realized my fate. They had taken me, and no doubt Mother, too. I didn't know where we were. Or where we were going.
But I did know that this was not going to end well.
