“Hello?” I answered my phone after diving into my bed. I spent a whole week trying to focus on school. Yet I still find myself sneaking looks at James.
However he seems to beat me to it and it always results to us automatically look away and blush in embarrassment.
Lia was getting all the attention but she only focuses on James, which made the other guys mad. Long story short, it was one of the most tiring weeks I've ever had.
“Hey. It's Emily.” The person at the end of the line replied. “So, are you free today?”
“Yeah, why?”
“I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out at the pastry shop. You know, to relax and have fun.”
“I don't know. I still have homework, though.” I stammered. It was only a partial lie. After all I needed to study.
“Oh come on, Wendy,” Emily whined. “We haven't gone out in like forever. And you really need to let loose. I can't stand seeing you locked up in a stuffy room cramped up with all your homework. Plus, it's Friday.”
I sighed. I really did need to relax, and the pastry's there were awfully delicious. “Only for a while,” I said.
“So it's a yes?” Emily said excitedly on the other side.
“Yeah, and you better hang up before I have anymore second thoughts.” I warned.
“Ok then. See ya in 30!"
I hoisted myself up before searching through my pile of clothing.
