During the week, I kept on looking forward to the weekend, but I wasn't able to get my mind off it.
I decided to go to the library, but the conversation with James and I was still replaying in my head. He looked so nervous about it and the way he blushed made me smile. Likely he never asked someone before; like me.
Then it finally came to my head; this is my first date. It really was embarrassing admitting that I'm in grade 11 and I’ve never actually had an actual date during my school year. Sure, I've had lunch with guys, and they've bought me lunch, but it was never an official date.
Accidentally, my face came in contact with a broad shoulder. I caught a strong whiff of axe before seeing who I ran into.
"Jacob!" I exclaimed, my eyes wide open. I haven't seen him for so long.
He left to take boarding school in grade 9, because his mother couldn't take his idleness anymore and hoped her would be better there. But I don’t think anything will stop him from causing trouble.
"Wow, I never knew that you'd come back," I said.
"Well it's not that easy to get rid of me," Jacob teased as his dark green eyes stared into my hazel ones.
His black hair went up in different directions, almost sneaking a peek his personality, and his skin was bronzer that before. Muscles seemed to ripple under his blue t-shirt and jeans.
He looked older and stronger. But he still had the same mischievous expression since we met in 4th grade.
We were close friends, and once I thought it may have been more than that, but it turned out to be sisterly and brotherly love for each other.
"Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?" I questioned.
"Hey, I'm all about surprises." Jacob said.
"You're much taller." I stated. Jacob was taller than last time I saw him. Now I have to crane my neck to make eye contact with him.
"Yea, and a hell lot hotter too," he replied cockily. I rolled my eyes at him. "Missed me?" He said while playfully raising his eyebrows.
"Yea, I missed all the times you've gotten into trouble," I said while crossing my arms together and gave him a mock smile.
"Aw, Wendy. You're no fun," he whined.
"Fine," I said, "Though you changed physically, out here, you're still the same in there." I tapped my finger on his forehead.
He shrugged before enveloping into an arm crushing bear hug and ruffling my hair.
"Remind me to kill you for that, someday," I said, while my words muffled in his shirt.
He laughed before letting me go.
"Well it seems like boarding school didn't help much," I said.
"Yea, about that...." He began, running his hands through his hair. "How do you put this? They got sick of me."
"What?" I asked. "What is your mom going do with you?"
He chuckled before replying, "Well now it'll be back like the old times, I'm going to your school, Wendy."
Before I could restrain myself, I jumped into his arms while he twirled me around.
"To be honest, I really did miss you," I replied giving off a wide grin. Though I didn't like attention, some fun would be nice. Emily would be grateful to have a party partner.

We talked for a while to catch up on things.
After some time passed, I noticed a blonde passing our table. I wouldn't have looked up if it weren't for the cold grey eye staring right into me.
Lia.
Jacob noticed a second after I did and he tensed up. Did they know each other? After an uncomfortable moment, my question was answered.
"Jacob," she said coldly.
"Lia," Jacob replied, his carefree eyes turning stern. For a moment, it seemed like I didn't even existed, but I wished it stayed that way.
"Wendy, what are you doing here?" she asked.
"Oh please don't tell me you don't own this place, too," I said sarcastically.
"No, I don't, but that doesn't mean you could go wandering around my place." Lia snapped.
"I wasn't wandering, god damn it," I hissed. “And you don’t need to act all high and mighty about it.” I felt suddenly proud that I said that.
"Then why in the world," she began, but was cut off by the librarian's hush.
Fortunately, that gave Lia a note to shut off and she looked at Jacob before shooting daggers at me and stalked away. I was still worked up despite the fact that she already left.
We both sighed before spontaneously saying "Do you two know each other."
In any other case, we would have laughed, but we knew better.
"I met her during the time I was gone," Jacob replied, as he ran both his hands through his hair, frustrated. He shook his head before finding the right words, "We were a thing, but that was a mistake."
I just let out a small, "oh."
"This is a small world," I said, trying to brighten up the mood.
"And a cruel one, Wendy," he stared into my eyes, shining off his unfamiliar concerned eyes, before returning back to his normal state. "Well let’s not let that bitch ruin our day. Plus I was hoping to find you today; I think Imma host a Welcome Home party for myself."
I rolled my eyes; this was definitely something Jacob would do for himself. "Saying that the people will know you."
"No, but they will know me." he emphasised, smirking at me before hooking an arm around my neck.
I sighed, "At least it's good to have you back, Jacob."
