Chapter 5 ~ Bruises
>> Mi-Ya pov <<As I walked through the hall, I kept my head down making sure my hair covered my face and the bruise that was starting to form on my cheek. Of course I'd used make up to help cover it but it was still somewhat noticeable. As I made my way to my locker I noticed Tae and Hoseok leaning against them.
Keeping my head down I unlocked my locker and got my books out trying to ignore the presence of the two males. "Ay Mi-Ya, you ignored my message last night! I ended up talking to my elephant friend all night" Tae cried dramatically not even noticing my mood. Hoseok chuckled softly. "You talk to it every night anyway". Tae scoffed before slamming my locker door causing me to flinch and let out a barely audible squeal.
"Why aren't you speaking?" Tae asked as I noticed Yoongi and Jungkook walking over. Yoongi with his usually grumpy face on show. "I'm just tired" I mumbled before giving him a small smile hoping he wouldn't notice the bruise and luckily he didn't.
"Ah Mi-Ya noona you should sleep more at night then" Jungkook suggested. I gave him a small nod of the head before saying a quick bye and running up to the rooftop. It had been awhile since I'd been there.
I threw my bag down onto some random bench that was against a wall before making my way to the railings and leaning on them, looking up at the clouds in the sky.
Breathing in the fresh air, I let out a small sigh before shaking my head and walking back over to my bag, grabbing my box of cigarettes and getting one out along with my lighter. Putting the cigarette in my mouth I quickly lit it and immediately felt relaxed.
"You smoke?". I turned to see Jungkook and Yoongi behind me. Yoongi rolled his eyes and shoved his bag onto the floor before walking over to me. "Most people these days do Jungkook" he mumbled. "Don't tell Tae or Hoseok either. She probably had her own reasons" he stated as I let out a breath of smoke.
"You know smokings bad for you right?" Jungkook asked with a raised eyebrow. My eyes immediately averted to Yoongi who was smirking to himself. "It's funny you say that cause a friend of mine said the same thing".
Suddenly I heard Tae shouting my name so Yoongi took my cigarette causing me to shout a small 'no' as he threw it off the roof of the school.
"Mi-Ya? Why'd you walk off so suddenly?" He asked as he walked towards me, Yoongi and Jungkook leaving me and Tae alone to talk. "I just needed some air..". Tae simply rolled his eyes and shook his head walking towards the railings just like he did when we first properly met. "I can tell when someone's lying. Especially you. You scrunch your nose up very slightly and blink a couple of times. One after the other" he explained with a small smirk.
"But I do have a question". I raised an eyebrow as I stood by his side looking down at all the students talking amongst themselves in the courtyard.
"Where did that bruise on your cheek come from?".
My eyes widened and my body immediately stiffened. I was hoping no one would notice. "Oh umm I tripped over this morning! Clumsy me I know!" I said quickly making sure not to scrunch my nose up or blink. Tae stares at me for a minute, doubt evident on his face but it was soon replaced with a smile. "Ok!".
I let out a breath I didn't realise I was holding in as he slung an arm over my shoulders. "Shall we go for a walk around school?" He asked. I simply shook my head not really wanting to talk anymore than I have to. "I'm going to stay up here for a bit. Go to Jimin and that". He looked a little reluctant for a few minutes but soon nodded. With a small goodbye I watched as he walked away and immediately my eyes started watering as I placed my hand on my bruised cheek.
Will I never escape it?
