Chapter 4

Vacation Paradise
FLASHBACK

It was a sunny day. I was very happy, and all I had thought to myself was when we get there how much we were going to bond with the children.

That led me to thinking about my sisters. I really missed them now that I’m in college and could not always see them. I checked to see what time it was, as shown on the clock its 10:45 am. "Maybe I should give them a call." I closed the door and sat on my bed.

I call my sister Angel. She picked up the phone knowing who it was, "Ash, I thought you were coming home this Summer. What happened?" I looked at our picture that I had in my room and sighed with a small sad smile. "I will not be able to come this summer because I’m planning something big for all of us."

I can hear her sigh in disappointment, as I heard Mochi running in the background to the phone asking is it me. There was an awkward silence on the line and I feel them looking at each other with agony. "I'm sorry I can't come you guys but I'm pretty sure you can spend time with cousin Alondra. She will be happy to see you guys." I exclaim.

"I guess that will be fun. Switch to face time we want to see you." Angel said. I switch to face time and saw the two standing there with happy energetic faces. At the time they were in middle school and I really wanted to be there for them. "We made breakfast all by ourselves, see?"

The look of the food made me happy. "At least you didn't almost burn down the house this time." I joked. Mochi scolded "oh shut up!" while me and Angel laughing. "It was fun seeing you guys, I- I'll try spending more time with you guys." I started to cry until there was a knock on my door. I looked up and excuse myself from them.

Then I opened the door and there was all my roommates wondering why I’m not out yet. but all they saw was a teary face. "Ash, what's wrong do I have to beat someone up?" Ely asked while putting her fist in her other hand. I laughed and said "No, I'm just talking to my sisters."

They was looking at me with an awe face as I was whipping tears from my face. "Well we all have to get ready so start packing." Kayla said in her joyous smile. I went back to my room and picked up my phone and said "I have to go but I will try my best to contact you." We hung up the phone after we said our love you’s and goodbyes. That's when I started packing my belongs.

As soon as I was finished I left my room. We all came out of our rooms at the same time. All of us had packed our clothes and went to the cars to head off to the recruiting camp. It was summer and of course it was something new for us. We admired the view as we pulled up at the facility grounds; The car ride had felt quite short since everyone was buzzing with energy.

I rode with Kayla, Ely, and Lucy. "Hey, Kayla can you pass me the flyer of the job positions?" The flyer said it was a camp for new learners. The drive way to the building itself was a long one, far away from any main road and he closest neighbouring houses were miles away, when we arrived inside the facility, the doors locked behind us.

A man's voice came from within the building. His name was Dr. Naaskimino, he wanted us to train to replace his current professionals because they were becoming older and weaker. He told us that we will do whatever he says, or he will kill us for knowing what he does, who he is and where the facility is located.

A lot of the girls were scared but I wasn't really. I just took a deep sigh. I thought to myself, another life challenge. I looked closely and asked myself, "Do I know him from somewhere? Why did this crazy man trick us into doing something like this? What was his purpose? Where did I know him from? " His voice was rough but you could still tell he was not yet in his thirties, and his facial features were covered only letting his piercing eyes taunt us.
