A year or two after my little sister, Elis, was born my father decided to leave our family. We don't know the exact reason why he left or where he is today, but my mother doesn't care.

Some days I really miss my father teaching me piano or helping me with my homework. He always told me to never give up, keep trying because he knew my dream was out there waiting for me to pick it up.

Which is what most parents tell their children, never give up kids, but my dad he made me feel that I could do anything.

Because of him I read about a lot of new ideas and projects and now I like to have a challenge.

I have a lot of family members, but we don't have a lot of space. There is my older sister Hayden, one of my younger sisters Elissa, and me all in one room. The boys, Matthew and Leroy share the other, as Elis stays in my mothers room.

***

Hayden is the oldest. She is 27 years old. She is married with two boys, Johnathan and Daniel. She is an elementary teacher at Crest Creek Elementary School. She has always wanted to be a teacher and I think she chose the right job. She is good with children and she is super smart. Of course she doesn't live in our house anymore, but we still keep her things in our room.

Matthew is 24 years old. He is married as well and they are expecting a baby girl in December, Madeline. Matthew never really liked me. I was always correcting him. He is a Spanish teacher at Crest Creek High School. He is really smart when it comes to language, but when math appears he isn't as strong.

Then there is me. I'm smart, I guess. My mother wants me to be a doctor, but that job doesn't really scream McKenna. I really want to be a pro pianist or a music, choir, band teacher. Really anything in the form of music, you can sign me up for.

Elissa is 13. She has to be my favorite sibling even though she is my cousin. Her parents were 17 when they had her and her fathers parents wanted them to give her away. So they gave her to my mother. So we've grown up together since she was born. As her real family grew they were going to take her back, but when her mother passed away from cancer their family moved somewhere by New York and we never saw them again. Elissa knows everything about me...and by everything I literally mean everything. She wants to be a journalist or writer for the New York Times newspaper. She thinks its never going to happen, but I say it will.

Leroy is 5. He isn't very old, but he is a really good reader and writer. We keep telling him he needs to be an author. I've read some of his stories, mostly fantasy books appear, but he is only 5. He gets a room to himself, sure Matthew's stuff is still there, but he still gets his own room, which is pretty cool and lucky, especially in a family of seven.

Elis is the baby of the family and everyone's favorite. She is smart and she loves drama. She wants to be a actor in the theater when she grows up. She says "there is no way you'll see me in a movie! Only on stage," then she does her cute little pose that makes everyone scream in awe.

My mother, Taylor, has been super busy lately. She wanted to be a stay at home mom to take care of kids, but since dad left she has been working at Starbucks and Walmart. I think she should work at the day care just down the street. That would be perfect for her.

My father, Andrew, was smart. I learned everything from him. He taught me piano. Even mom wasn't sure she liked me playing an instrument, but my father bought one for me anyway and now my mother likes when I play. She says it gets rid of all her worries and clears her mind. My father was a carpenter. He was really good at math. I don't know if he is still one today, but I hope he is since it was his dream job as a child.

That's my family so far... let's move on.
