Grendine's Rose Thorns - Dinnertime Prayers

Before Dinner, we were asked to go to the washroom by the fosters rooms and wash our hands before dinner. It was beautiful. In the washroom. Even the toilet was made of gold. The taps on the sink were a gem, and the shower was marble. I washed my hands with lavender soap, and exited quickly downstairs so I wouldn't dawdle.

I made it downstairs quickly, and the dining room table was gold also, with a velvet over-sheet. Each chair (there being 8) were labeled with nametags. There were three nametags on the left, three on the right and one at each end of the table. I searched around for my nametag, and found 'Rosa' labeled on the right next to Lucia. I sat down in my seat and layed my forearms on the table, elbows off the table to be more polite. I waited another minute for the family to serve dinner. "So. Before we eat dinner," Byron says, "we do a prayer. Because you don't know it, you can just mimic the words in your head."

I nodded agreeingly and put my hands together.  The family started to talk strangely, like in some foreign language I couldn't speak. After the prayer ended, we began to eat. "So," Lucia said, "where do you come from?"

"London. Near Hyde Park." I answer.

"Ah." Lucia says, finishing some of her steak. "Wasn't your father a magician?"

"Yes. I sort of wanted the magic to rub off onto me but sadly, I can only turn things into other things!"

"Show us!" Robbie said.

"Yeah!" Bobbie asked.

"Oh alright." I say.

I grab my fork, hold it tight between both fists and poof! It becomes a spoon. The family look at the spoon in awe as I turn it back to a fork and begin eating again. "My father used to perform In Covent Garden and Picadilly Circus. It wasn't just magic, either. It was extreme stunts too. Sometimes he would juggle balls, then turn them into roaring chainsaws!" I boast, eating the last of my salad.

After ten minutes of continuous chattering, we finish our meals. Ann then brings out a giant cake. It was on the bottom, red velvet and on the top was sponge. We each got a slice of the cake and I turned my unused napkin into a spoon and began to eat the cake like everyone else.

This god damn cake was the best cake I've ever tasted.

Better than Sandra's.

We ate the cake quickly, then got sent off to our rooms.

(Sorry this was a shorter part, I promise I'll make the next one a bit longer!)
