She couldn't believe her eyes, however, she fully knows that once eyes can never lie. But throughout the years she had also learned that the eye can be lied to, seeing is believing but is it true? Turning around in front of the mirror she looks over her shoulder.

Something was definitely laying to her eyes, there was no way that they could have grown this large in just such a short time. It had taken years for them to grow just past the shoulder blades, now I'm a madder of they's they had grown past the small of her back.

Turning around once more she stretches out the grey wings as much as she could, inspecting every feather that she could see through the mirror. Lowering her head with a sigh of defeat her wings feel down to. She had always hated her wings, ever since she was just a little girl. They had turned her into a freak, a monster.

No one wanted her around, not even her parents wanted to have anything to do with her. Her wings back then had been small, she couldn't even see them over her shoulder. However, she still knew they were there and they had created problems for her.

Then she found the Library, or rather, the Librarian and his Guardian had found her. She had been taken in and she could feel how her wings started to grow, however, it wasn't much. She had managed to run away a couple of times, only to return back to the Library.

She was such a fool back then, believing that if people like the Librarian and Guardian would accept her as she was then there had to be others too. It took her a couple of years to finally give up on those dreams, only to have them return to her mind again, years and years later.

"They look great." A voice suddenly said and she lifts her head up, instead of seeing herself in the mirror she sees an older man smiling towards her. "I don't want them, they will just make things worse than they already are. How am I supposed to hide something like this?" She asks, her voice was dripping with venom as she spoke.

"They, they are bigger then when you left." The older man points out, making her just narrow her eyes towards him. "Don't worry, you will find a way. You, you always do." The older man told her and in the next second, she was looking at her own refl once more.

Eyes landing on the grey wings once more she tries to resist to punch the mirror, having someone point out the fact that her wings had grown bigger wasn't what she wanted to hear. Closing her eyes she took one deep breath, in a try to calm down as she folds the wings together once more. Taking the jacket she was always wearing she pulls it over to cover up the wings.

With one last look in the mirror, to make sure the wings were truly hidden she turns around towards the door. The faster she could finish up this mission, the faster she could get away from these people and the faster she could take care of those wings.
