My Birthday

Kate's POV:

OMG. I HEARD HIM. HE LIKES ME TOO. When I left, I put my ear on the door to hear what they would talk about next. HE'S GOING TO ASK ME ON MY BIRTHDAY! I walk home excitedly. I take a shower and hop in my bed. I stay on my phone for a little, but eventually fall asleep. When I wake up I realize its October. Ten more days until my Birthday. I get ready for work. One of my jobs is to work at a Cafe. The Cafe is old fashioned. I get my work clothes on, and head over to Pine Cafe. After a successful time in the Cafe, I head home and change for my next job, ART! Yeah. I'm an artist now! Pull in my driveway and see Jacob waiting there, on his phone. I get out of the car and he looks up. "Hi." He says. "Hi. I'm just about to work on my latest piece of art!" "Oh! Cool! I just wanted to stop by and say hi." "You can come in and watch the artist at work." "Yeah, sure. Why not?" I lead him inside, and walk to my art room. The room is a medium size, with tarp on the floor and paints and brushes and canvases. The latest one I'm working on is of two people sitting in the grass holding hands, with beautiful blossoming trees to the side of them, and a lake in front of them. "Wow. That's good, Kate. Who is it of?" "Eh. Nobody in particular." I respond. I sit in my chair and start painting in, carefully, the lake. I feel Jacob's eyes on my, but I keep working. An hour later, I finish the whole thing. I turn around expecting Jacob to have left, but he's still there. His eyes focused on me. I blush a little bit, then reveal the painting. "Oh my gosh, Kate! You are really good at this!" He says. I blush and shrug. "No, really!" He argues. "It's really good!" We walk to the kitchen and eat a snack. After we finish, Jacob says " I should get going." "Yeah. Well, I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." "Bye." Then he walked out the door.

Jacob's POV:
After I left Kate's house, I went to the mall to pick up the present I got her. I got her a silver ring with K+J engraved in it. It came in a cute little box. When I got home I cut out a piece of paper and wrote will you be my girlfriend? On it. I taped it on the top of the inside of the box, so when she opened it, she would see it. I put it into a small cardboard box, and wrapped it. I know a few of her really good friends: Addison, Taegan, Lily, Lindsay, and Olivia. I called them, and Dylan, Liam, and Alex, and told them I want to throw a surprise party for Kate. They came over and we planned it out. Addison is going to take her to the mall to look at things, while the rest of us will set up the party. I'm so excited. She's going to love it.

October 10th 7:00 Kate's POV:

Addison took me to the mall to look at things. We were there for about two hours, but she wouldn't let me go. She got a text, then smiled at it. Five minutes later, she drove me over to Jacob's house. "He wanted me to drop you off there. He just wants to say hi." Addison says. "Ok..." When she opens the door, my friends pop up and yell "SURPRISE!" "OMG!" I say totally surprised. I walk inside and say hi to everyone. We do a lot of random things like, truth or dare, eating, YouTube, movie, and just talking. Then, it's time to open up my presents. I open up all of them except Jacob's. "You have to open mine when everyone leaves!" He say holding up a little box. Everyone looks surprised. After more talking, everyone leaves. Jacob and I are sitting on the couch awkwardly. He hands me the box, gets up, and starts recording it. I unwrap it and take it out of the cardboard box. I open up the little box and read will you be my girlfriend? Then, I see a ring with K+J engraved in it. I break out in tears and hug Jacob. "Yes." I whisper in his ear. I pull away and put on the ring. Perfect. I wipe the tears from my face and sit down. Then Jacob leans close to me and kisses me. I feel the warmth of his lips. I pull away and he says, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." But instead of answering, I kiss him back. I can feel him smile. I pull away, and we talk for awhile. We talk about our childhood memories. I miss that. But we are finally together. We talk until 3am. Then I fall asleep.
