Crystal was reading book in common room with Silver studying. Jerome walked in and smiled at Crystal. She returned his smile as he took a gun from table and walked out.
Silver laughed coldly.
"Do you seriously think he's going to like you?"
Crystal sighed.
"Come on, Silver. We are friends."
Silver laughed.
"He is not your friend because he likes you, Crystal. He has to be good with your father. That's why he even talks to you. If uncle heard he was disrespecting you, he would kill him. That's the only reason he even talks to you. Open your eyes."
As she said that, she walked.
Crystal felt her eyes tear up. She stood up and started walking to her room.
What if Silver is right? What if he is good to me because of my dad?
Crystal run into a tall person and felt person holds her tightly by the waist.
She looked up and saw Jerome. He laughed.
"Easy, doll."
He stopped as Crystal turned her head from him.
"Doll?"
He gently turned her face to him and clenched his jaw as he saw her puffy eyes.
"Have you been crying?"
Crystal bit her lip and looked away.
"No..."
Jerome brushed his finger along her cheek.
"Who hurt you? Tell me."
Crystal sighed and looked up at the ginger boy.
"Do you like me?"
Jerome frowned.
"What?"
Crystal bit her lip and felt tears coming again.
"Do you like hanging out with me? Not just because I'm a Galavan and because you want to please my father and because Tabitha is my aunt and..."
She was cut of by Jerome putting both of his hands on her cheek and leaning closer.
"I love hanging out with you. I don't care if you are a Galavan. For me, you are Crystal. My Crystal. Please don't cry."
Crystal pulled him into hug and kissed his cheek.
"Thank you."
Jerome grinned.
"Who told you that?"
Crystal pulled from him and sighed.
"Silver."
Jerome looked confused.
"Isn't she your sister?"
Crystal nodded and looked at the floor.
"She never liked me. Dad loves me more than her. It bother her that I'm the good one and everyone loves me better than her. It's not exactly my fault. I'm me. I can't change that. Can I?"
Jerome sighed.
"No you can't. But I like you for that. I like it."
Crystal smiled.
"Thanks, Jerome. For everything."
Jerome winked.
"What kind of a friend would I be if I let you cry alone?"
Crystal grinned and kissed his cheek again.
"See you later, Jerome."
Jerome waved as she left.
"See you later, doll."
