Chapter 6: Christmas?

Hey guys long time no see, I have recently started school in September and I'm guessing some of you did too, so I hope all of you have good school years and stuffs but back into Jade and Jake's life.

Jade's POV

I was sitting on Jake's shoulders while trying to put the star on our Christmas tree. I smiled when I finally got it on, he took me off his shoulders and we stood looking at our tree triumphantly, I felt his arm snake around my waist as he kissed my temple.

I smiled up at him as he picked me up and kissed me softly. He settled me on his waist after picking me up I wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned my head on his shoulders. We walked to the kitchen and he set me down on the counter while looking in the fridge. "How about some subs?" He asked I nodded and jumped off the counter to help him carry things to the kitchen island.

We made our sandwiches and ate silently, Jake occasionally talking about how his mom, sister, and my brother were coming over for Christmas, I tilted my head to the side "Jake what's Christmas?" I asked as I bite into my sandwich he looked at me with his jaw hanging out of his mouth. "Kitten you don't know what Christmas is!?" He exclaimed making me jump and whimper. He sighed and pulled me onto his lap.

"Well when I lived in the attic no one would ever come up around this time all I knew was that it was cold and people were always laughing downstairs." I felt him shaking in anger as I told him that, I turned around and placed my hands on his cheeks making him look at me with his now blazing red eyes. I leaned my forehead against his and ran my fingers through his hair as he sighed, I gently placed a kiss against his lips he kissed back softly and then pulled away looking at me with his eyes back to their beautiful green, I got off his lap and walked to the fridge hearing his feet pad behind me as he headed into the living room. I grabbed two water bottles and walked into the living room to see him laying on the couch with his hands over his eyes. I giggled and pulled out his phone that was in my back pocket and took a picture of him then set the phone and waters on the table and proceeded to lay on his arm and cuddle up to him.

He uncovered his face and wrapped his arm around me pulling me close as he breathed in my scent, I nuzzled into his chest and yawned softly. "Why not take a little rest babe, it'll make you feel more awake later on" he stated as I rubbed my eyes, I nodded and closed my eyes.

I slowly rolled over feeling around for Jake, when I didn't feel his body next to mine I jolted awake and looked around. I checked the clock and saw that it was a little after midnight, swinging my legs over the side of the couch I stood up slowly and stretched. I walked down the hallway following Jake's scent, it led me to a large oak door. I softly knocked and heard his voice call from within, "Come in babe" he said. I walked in and saw him sitting at a desk with papers scattered everywhere. Walking up to him I rounded the desk and plopped myself onto his lap, he smiled down at me and kissed the top of my head.

After a few hours of paperwork, phone calls, and a lot of coffee he finally leaned back and rubbed his face. I spun around and faced him, I took his face in my hands and kissed his nose. Hearing him chuckle I pulled away and looked at him, he stared into my eyes and I stared back into his. Slowly I felt a yawn coming soon enough it escaped as I stretched. I got off his lap and stretched my arms and back, he looked me up and down then touched his hand to my stomach I squealed from how cold his hands were and wiggled around trying to get out of his grasp. He looked at me and smiles widely as I giggled and hugged around his neck. I heard him take a deep inhale of my scent and I smiled running my fingers through his hair, stepping away I heard him whine.

I held my hand out waiting for him to grab my hand, he took it and let me pull him to the door. I walked to his bedroom and tugged his arm lightly for him to follow. Sitting on the bed he held me against him chest protectively but not too tight. I played with his shirt as a little yawn escaped my lips.

Chuckling he reached over and pulled the comforter over us and turned the lights off. Snuggling against his chest I let my eyes drift shut the last thing I heard was Jake whispering into my ear, "Goodnight honey, I love you" then everything went dark.
