Chapter 3: Snooping leads to trouble

Chapter 3

I’d barley been living with the guys for 3 months and I was already sick of all the shit, I had literally been planning different ways to kill Abby, she pissed me off so much to the point where I had slapped her in the face resulting in Jacky hating my guts even more, fab.

I had grown to like Ronnie though, he was genially a nice guy and I was proud to have him as my brother we actually had a lot of things in common like sarcasm, hatred for people, sense of humour etc. Although me and Ronnie did have a lot of arguments, living in the same house made it kind of hard to avoid each other so they were solved pretty quickly.

 “Indi, want to come with me a sec?” Ryan asked one afternoon it was just me and him in the house as Ronnie and Derek had gone to do an interview Mika had gone to visit family for the week and Jacky was god knows where.

“I guess so what are you planning? I see that look in your eyes, boy.” I questioned seeing a look of mischief flash across his face.

“I’m going to see where Abby goes when she says she goes on these ‘walks’ you in?” I nodded eagerly grabbing a pair of shoes and throwing a hoddie on before following Ryan out the house and down the street.

“We’re going to be looking for ages though aren’t we?” I pointed out as we crossed the street and made our way to a park which was a few blocks away from the house.

“Nope I know where she’ll be, if we’re on time she should be there.” He pointed to some benches across the other side of the park and sure enough there she was sat on one of the benches opposite, phone in hand tapping eagerly at the screen. 

“So why are we trying to find out where she goes, if you know already?” I asked him.

“Because I’ve literally only been following her for about a week and I’ve been called away before I get the chance to find out where she goes.” He explained not taking his eyes of her; suddenly he pulled at my arm and frantically pointed over in her direction. “Get your phone out and take pictures so we can show Jacky!” I did as I was instructed and caught her hugging, kissing and getting in a car with some guy who quite clearly wasn’t Jacky. I was shocked, I had a feeling she was bad news and with what the guys had told me about her had only backed up my feelings, but that just proved it all, she was cheating on Jacky and he deserved to know.

“Let’s get outta here before we’re seen.” I told Ryan who nodded and we made our way back to the house, one question plagued my mind and it had done since the first week of me staying with the guys, I couldn’t keep it sitting on my mind any longer, I had to ask someone. “Does Jacky hate me?”

Ryan seemed taken aback by my question; he was silent for a minute before answering. “Hun I’m really not the right person to ask nor is it my place to say, all I can say is… You’re reading the signs wrong.”

What the fuck did that mean? ‘I was reading the signs wrong.’ Why do men have to be so complicated? None of us spoke the rest of the walk back; Ryan's response circled my mind as I tried to figure out what he meant but failing miserably.

We reached the house a few minutes after and found that the guys were back and sat playing X-Box games shouting at each other, oh lord. Ryan took the space next to Ronnie on the couch leaving me with the choice of the floor or a spot next to Jacky; of course I’d be left in this situation. Not wanting to sit on the floor I was left with no choice, I silently sat down next to Jacky who was on his phone! Surprise, surprise I thought to myself.

The guys played whatever game they were playing for a good 2 hours before deciding to go out to fetch food. I didn’t want to move so I stayed behind.

“Jacky you coming?” Derek asked, Jacky looked up from his phone and shook his head.

“Nah I’ll stay here.” And with that the guys left me and Jacky in the most awkward silence ever.

“Sooo.” I started drumming my fingers on my legs; Jacky placed his phone down and looked me in the eyes.

“I know what you and Ryan did today.” He stated simply. What.

“What do you mean?” I asked like I didn’t know what he was talking about.

“You and Ryan spying on Abby, I was there where else did you think I went?” He questioned, there was no point in denying it now.

“Look I’m sorry okay? I only did it because I don’t want you getting hurt even though you probably hate me anyway.” I apologized not daring to look him in the eye.

“Its fine no need to apologize, I know Abby’s been cheating on my for a little while now and what do you mean? I don’t hate you at all.” He knew what Abby was doing?

“Why you still with her then if you know she’s cheating on you?”

He sighed before answering, “Because, she’s an evil twisted woman. If I broke up with her she’d flip her shit, like majorly.”

“Well if you break up with her it’s not your problem anymore, it’s just harassment.” I said. “And if you don’t hate me why do you always like seem really off with me? Like this is the first proper conversation we’ve had since I got here…”

“That be Abby too, she hates you basically and doesn’t want me talking to you.” Ugh next time I see her I’m slapping her so hard that she won’t know what’s hit her, selfish bitch.

“I seriously highly recommend ending it Jacky before you get in too deep.” I said after a little while in silence.

“Oh don’t you worry I’ve been trying to end it for a while, plus I’ve got my eye on someone else anyway.” I felt my stomach flip; ha he liked someone else of course, I should be used to this by now really.

I swallowed hard fighting tears that were threatening to spill. “Do what’s best for you Jacky; I’ll be there for you.” I forced a smile looking him in the eye.

“Thank you Indi and I’m sorry that you thought I hated you.”

“You’re forgiven,” he smiled wide holding his arms out for a hug which I accepted quickly. The guys came back a few moments later, I excused myself from the room and headed upstairs where I slammed the door shut and threw myself on my bed letting the tears fall.

It was official, I had fallen for Jacky.
