Ald Sotha, capitol of House Sotha on Vvardenfell. House Sotha, house of the Mage. While not as large as House Telvanni House Sotha's members has some of the most notable Wizards in all of Resdayn. Two of its most esteemed Councilors had been expecting a baby for nearly seven months now, in addition to their little daughter, Nall. The couple was quite young, talented and happy. Their marriage was a good one, and both where filled with joy about the baby that would be coming soon. They had spent hours and hours debating on names, if it was a girl it would be Serra, if it was a boy it would be Sil.
Even in the womb the magical capabilities of the babe were noticeable. The mother had increased magical power since her pregnancy, and random magical disturbances showed up around her from time to time, increasing as the babe got older. After 9 months of pregnancy the babe was born, a beautiful Chimer boy with bright yellow skin and bright blue eyes. Sil of House Sotha was born.
Little Sil grew up with loving parents and great teachers. At the age of 2 he casted his first proper spell, at the age of 6 he could best a common hedgemage in battle. Sil was truly a prodigy in magic, even more so than his sister who was said to be the greatest magical prodigy in known history.
Sil was a happy child, the little Chimer loved spending time in the library of Ald Sotha, studying new spells and magical theories. His parents couldn't have been more proud of him.
The years went by, short in the lifetime of a Mer. On Sil's fourteenth birthday, still a young child amongst the Mer, he was named master wizard of House Sotha, winning the right to wear the name of his House. Sil was now known as Sotha Sil.
The young boy left the Council chambers as happy as could be. His parents and Nall stood at the large wooden doors, pride in their blue eyes. The youngest master wizard in the known Resdayn histories! His parents have him a big hug, Nall gave Sil a kiss on his cheek.
"We're eating Guar steak tonight for sure!" His father told Sil.
"No less for our little Sotha Sil." His mother said while stroking the boy's white hair.
"Guar steak, I can't wait!" Young Sil shouted in excitement.
That night Sil went out of the city to walk in the mushroom forests of Resdayn, as he often did. Using a levitation spell Sil floated towards one of the large mushrooms in the forest. The mushrooms made for comfortable beds, little Sil thought. He loved laying down on them on clear nights so he could count the stars.
Like his teachers had thought him he looked at the star signs. The Mage, the Warrior, the Thief and the others. How fitting that I was born under the Mage sign, Sil thought.
"Someday I will count and name all the stars in the sky! Someday, when people refer to the Mage they will think of me! With Azura as my witness, I will be the greatest Mage that ever lived!"
Young Sotha Sil shouted at the stars.
Little did Sil know that his wish would be reality one day.
