I pondered while walking back and forth in my kitchen, on th stove— a chicken breast was tenderly cooked on one side.

"Now, would you mind telling me what had happened?" Tina asked, her hand was busy flipping the chicken in the pan as she knew that I would be unconscious about my surroundings when I was too deep in thoughts.

"The boss kissed me,"  I blurted out, making my dearest friend's eyes went wide.

"I know, I can't believe it either."

"Is he out of his freaking mind?!"

"That's what I thought."

"I mean come on, you're nobody, plain horrible, the definite explanation of dumbass and totally clumsy-"

"Flying foot!" I warned with my foot lifted up to kick her on the butt.

"Dammit, Ev!" She held her right arm that was burned when I kicked her, having her body to fall foward.

"Fried Tina!"

She glared daggers at me and began to do the chasing around the not so big apartment house. Square pillows were scattered everywhere on the floor as the result of us throwing something towards each other.

Then, Tina went upstairs, taking two steps at a time. I left her be as I thought that she would like to grab the first aid kit to heal herself from my 2 in 1 killing package.

I slowly picked up the grey soft pillows with different type of sizes and put them all back to their original places. The apartment looked like a typical modern house designs, but not the too fancy like those I was afraid to touch incase it would break or something, but the one that gave off the homey feeling.

I rushed to the kitchen when a smell of something burnt hit my nostrils, shutting off the stove immediately as smoke had began to rise up from the pan. Thank god that it was burnt only on one side, if not then I had to order something and in the state I was in right now, I didn't think waiting would be a good idea.

After serving the food, I walked upstairs, searching for Tina as she didn't like cold food and screaming wasn't a likeable choice. I must tell you that the grandmama that lived right to our left had a very high pitched voice that could break glasses when she was annoyed.

I was passing my bedroom to get to Tina's at the end of the hall when a loud rings came from the bathroom. I knocked on the door, knowing that Tina was inside fixing herself. "Tina, grab me my phone please!"

"Sure, one sec! Oooohhhh! It's your baby boss!"

What the fudge does that asshole wants in the middle of the night.

"Here," Tina said in a hushed tone as she handed me the black covered handphone before running to her room to put on some clothes. I just knew that she had a bath, I thought she was going to do something evil one could think of.

I squinted my eyes at her before murmuring an apology about her arm and made a mental note to check on her later.

"Yes, boss what may I help you?"

"Evren, I want to talk to you about what had happened earlier in the pantry room."

"Uh, tomorrow?" I queried, setting my mind that there was no way he wanted to talk to me just now when he had hours since I'd left the office.

"Nope, now."

"But it's twelve thirty."

"Yes."

"In the morning may I add."

"I'm waiting at LG1. You'd find me as soon as you get out of the elevator," he added, cutting the line.

I moved my gaze from the clock towards the phone, feeling too lazy to get dress up, plus with an empty stomach, did he really wished for death?!

I quickly put on a creamy white jumper dress over my white tank top and short shorts, rushing as I did so, "Tina! I gotta go out for a while. Keep my dinner in the fridge!" I yelled loudly to wherever she was, completely off guard about the grandmama that was probably sleeping.

"Sure! Tell me why when you get back."

For once I thanked god that she understood me. I put my hair in a messy bun before grabbing the pair of gladiator shoes on the corner of my room since it was the closest and I got no time to think.

Grumbles left my mouth when I was struggling with the pair of footwear. I ran as fast as I could, hearing the elevator ding. It was 'Grandma Next Door' who had came out of the elevator.

"Hello, Mrs. Edward."

No wonder no one had came and knocked on our door to remind us that we were not alone in the middle of the woods.

"Hello to you too young lady," she greeted back. "Aren't you supposed to be asleep by now? It is not good for a lady to wander around at night, Miss Grey."

Come on, you are not my grandmama!

"The boss called for a meeting. I can't say no since it is connected to my job."

The old lady face scrunched, clearly she was annoyed.

"At 12.30 in the morning?"

"Some of us need to work to get paid to buy food so that we can continue our life," I spat back and get into the elevator, leaving her hanging.

I hope it wasn't that harsh. She was a super stuck up bitch when she was younger. Now what? She wanted to make people be a 'nice' girl that she once wasn't?

World doesn't works that way, old woman.

I pushed the LG1 button and headed to where he was waiting.

Let's get this done and over with.
