Sick- Marichat

Marinette's POV: I can't believe I'm sick the day of prom. Tonight was supposed to be my chance to dance with Adrien! But of course, with my luck I get sick! My phones vibrates. I looked down to see it's Alya texting me on the groupchat. Everyone in our class is in the chat except, of course, Chloe.

Alya: Hey guys! Ready to get crazy?!

Nino: Totally dudes!

Marinette: Sorry, I'm sick, can't  come

Alix: That sucks! Sorry dude😞

Rose: I'm sorry Mari! Hopefully you get better soon

Alya: That's awful! I know how much you've been looking forward to this 😭😩. Want me to come over?

Mari: I'm fine. You guys go have fun.

I sighed as I turned my phone off. I rarely get sick, but when I do it's always when I have something exciting planned. I begin coughing uncontrollably.

"Marinette, are you okay?" Tikki asked. She held her hand to my forehead to check my temperature. "You fever is getting worse."

"I'm sure I'll be fine once I get some sleep." I said as I finally was able to stop coughing. The reason I got sick was probably because I haven't got enough sleep lately. With patrol and school work it's hard to find to to rest.

I smiled at the Tikki's concern for me. She's a really great friend. 

My eyes flew open. I wasn't even aware that I fell asleep. I look at the clock. I was asleep for a hour. I must have been really tired. What woke me up?

"Marinette, did you hear that? It sounded like it was coming from outside." Tikki whispered in my ear. She was hiding in my hair.

I was about to stand up to go check, when I saw Chat in my window. I groan. I don't have enough strength or patience to deal with him right now.

"What are you doing here?" I croaked out, my voice sore from coughing so much.

"I heard you were sick so I came to take care of you," His voice laced with concern, "you don't sound okay, princess."'

I rolled my eyes. I'm ladybug, protector of Paris! I don't need anyone to take care of me.

"I'm fine! I don't need your help." I lashed out of him.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to anger you." Hurt written on his face.

"No I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you." I whispered as he sat down on the edge of my bed.

His hand reached out and touched my forehead. "Princess! You're burning up!" He began shuffling though a bag, I didn't even notice him having one. Maybe this sickness is messing with my brain?

"Here, take this. It should reduce your fever and make you fall sleep." He poured the liquid into a small cup. Too tired to argue with him, I grabbed it and down it.

He looked at the clock. "I hate to leave you but I need to go patrolling soon." I could see the regret on his face. I smiled at the fact that he hated to leave me alone. He began to stand up. I grabbed his hand, pulling him into bed next to me.

"Please don't leave me." I whispered, not wanting to be alone. Usually I'd think that Chat is the most annoying person to walk this planet. But I was wrong. He's caring, considerate, helpful, and a nice guy. "Am I starting to have feelings for Chat?" Well if I'm completely honest I always had feelings for him. But I pushed them to the back of my mind, thinking I could only love Adrien. My eyes started getting heavier.

"I'll never leave you princess." He kissed my forehead as I fell asleep.
