A/N: There's currently a flash fiction event going on in our Facebook groups, and I wrote this as a submission. The constraint is that it had to be 100-125 words. Then I find out the contest is for original fiction. Hahaha. I messed up, so Im submitting it here instead. Enjoy!

Car. Car means people. People are here at my house. I hope that's Jessica. Jessica pets me behind my ears.

No. Not Jessica. That looks like Luke. Luke is here. Will he take Kota away again? Kota always comes back.

Is it really Luke? He's different. Need to smell him to make sure it's Luke. Luke always smells like Mom's cookies that I'm not supposed to eat.

Luke sees me! I'm so happy! Luke looks happy. Why is he pointing his phone at me? His hand smells like Luke.

What is that coming out of Luke's jacket?! Is that a dog?! It doesn't smell like a dog. Must smell its butt to make sure.

It stinks. Not a dog.

Luke is laughing. "Max? Meet Sprinkles."
