Chapter 4~Runaways with the alpha

"Okay. Here's the plan. The pack usually sleeps during the day. We can escape then. Funneh, I need you to finish digging that hole." Alec tells me. "But why can't you do it? Your paws work too.." I whine and turn on my back to look up at him. "Because we all know how much you love to play in the dirt." He teases me. I pout and turn away from him. I felt him bite my ear playfully and I giggled. "Fine, I'll do it." I say As I roll over again. He chuckles then turns back to face everyone else,"All of you keep an ear out for the other wolves. Tell us if someone's coming. I'm going to help this potato dig the hole." He places his paw on my nose. All the others nod and go off in different directions. Alec takes his paw off of me and I stand up. "C'mon Funneh." He says as he slides down the hole. As I was looking down at Alec, someone had the nerve to push me and Alec and I headbutted. "Owie... WHO DID THAT!? I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" I yelled at no-one in particular, that is until I saw Kyran smirking. I straightened myself, walked over to him, and gave him a paw to the back if the head. I walked back to the hole and slid down leaving a very confused Kyran on the ground."Yikes, that looked like it hurt." Alec says as he begins digging. I start digging beside him and say,"Well, he deserved it." He chuckled at my comment, then I thought of something."How'd you guys get in here, anyway?" I asked him and he looked at me."We held our tails higher than the alphas and we got in trouble." He tells me. I nodded and continued to dig. Not soon after, we hear Rainbow whisper to us down the hole."Guys, someone's coming!" She says. Alec and I scramble out of the hole and lay in front of it to hide it. The boulder moves to reveal Nightshade and Snowdrift. I shiver and scoot closer to Alec."You all shall be seen as outcasts in this pack. You shall live here for the rest of your lives." Nightshade says to us. Of course, I decide to mouth off to him."No! I am not staying in here for the rest of my life! You can't mak-" I didn't get to finish my sentence before Alec had pressed his paw on my muzzle to keep it closed. Nightshade began walking towards me and I scooted backwards a bit. In a second he had me in his jaws, biting down hard on the back of my neck as I yelped and fell limp."Do not mouth off to me. I shall kill you now, you brat." I heard him say as he bit harder, obviously drawing blood. I stayed limp, I couldn't move at all. Suddenly I was dropped on the floor. It was Snowdrift. She had tackled Nightshade to the ground and was standing over him, obviously angry."How could you kill an innocent pup like that?! I'm disappointed in you Nightshade." She said to him, her eyes a fierce yellow."This Is the last straw. I'm leaving the pack and I'm taking them with me." She says as she looks at us. "But Snowdrift-" Nightshade was cut off. "No buts, I'm leaving. I shouldn't have picked you as my mate." She says as she walks over to us. She bites gently on the back of my neck and picks me up. She motions for everyone else to follow as she walks out of the cave, me swaying lightly with her every step.
