"Dude, can you hurry up already? You are taking forever," Jake stated outside my room door. I was in the middle of getting dress. I have been trying on outfits for awhile now, and it seems that Jake has grown impatient. I don't mean to make him wait, but I have to find the perfect outfit. "Hey man," I heard Monroe say, "don't rush him. He is nervous and haven't done this in awhile." "I am not nervous!" I yell outside my door. "Sure you are not," Monroe said sarcastically. I here two loud bangs on my room door.
"Yo man, hurry up!" Jake exclaimed. "I don't know what you are nervous about. It is just a date with Jess. Stop freaking out dude." "Don't mind him Mark. He doesn't understand how important this is to you because he don't take dates seriously." "Yeah, I know," I replied to Monroe while putting on my shirt. Jake, not letting things slide, responded to Monroe's remark. "I take it seriously, but I don't stress over it. Plus, it doesn't take much work to attract a girl and get her falling all over you." "Are you serious?" Monroe and I asked simultaneously. Then, Monroe took over.
"If that's how you think, there is no wonder why your relationship end so fast. You have to give an effort to get a girl and use that same effort to keep her." I walked out my room fully dressed. Going on the same thought as Monroe, I piggyback off of what he stated. "Monroe is right, and you have to respect her and treat her right, too. A girl should feel like a princess and in return she would respect you and treat you like her prince." Jake crossed his arms and started at us both. The expression on his face best read as carefree. "Oh please," he complained, "girls like the bad boys why are in control. Not the whole princess vibe crap. I didn't have to do that hooking up with your sister. She is too easy." I don't know what happened to make me so vexed and anger, but his words sparked anger in me like a match to gasoline.
I walked up to him, prepared to fight, but Monroe walked in between us both. I quickly snapped back to reality from my blind rage. "Relax you two," Monroe says. "I thought you both was over this stuff." "Over it?" Questioned Jake. "If mister perfect wants to fight me, the let him. I am sorry you we have different views on things and I wish we could not argue, but you have to deal with the fact that your sister likes me. If you don't like it, then you can go cry to someone else because I don't care." "My problem isn't with my sister liking you," I said violently, "it is with the fact you think you can keep disrespecting her and doing it ever so boldly in front of me. If you think I am just supposed to sit around while you disrespect her, then you really are dumb." "Whatever man," said Jake.
"Just get in the car already so I could drop you off to your date. If it means anything, you look nice anyway. I hope you can enjoy yourself a bit." Monroe just sighed, knowing the storm will get worst before it gets better. Jake walks downstairs and Monroe and I followed. Monroe decided to come with us on the drive so we don't end up arguing. Before we left, I said goodbye to Stacy and John, who were downstairs at the time. Then, we was on our way to the hotel where Jesse's stayed. It was only like a 45 minute drive, but driving in silence made the ride so much longer than it was. Everyone was uncomfortable.
Jake and Monroe dropped me off in front of the hotel. "Ok, I'll pick you up when you are done here. Just give me a call when you are ready, Mark," Jake explained. I just nodded in response. Jake drove off of the driveway and left. I walked to the room number Jess was staying in and knocked. As she opened the door, I was a bit nervous because I haven't been on a date in awhile. She was wearing a small necklace with the band Icon For Hire's logo on it. She had on converse high tops, long jeans, and a black short sleeve shirt with a skull in the center and a purple flower design surrounding it.
It was a really nice shirt in my opinion. Her hair was out, so I could see her long hair. She also brought with her a small purse. I was dressed in long jeans and converse too, but my jeans have holes in them as part of the design. My t-shirt was pretty basic. I had on a dark green t-shirt with a few skeletons playing cards at a table. "Hey there gorgeous," I said to Jess kindly. "How are you doing today?"
"I am fine. You look cool." "Thanks, and you look great, too," I said while smiling. "You know you have a similar style like me. But let's just admit I pull it off way better," she said sarcastically. I grin lightly to her remark. "Fine," I say casually, "I'll give you that. However, we both know I have the better taste in music. My music taste is one to love." "As if that was true," she said while smiling. "Yeah, you listen to rock, but your taste is stuck in the 90's, grandpa." I laugh lightly, fining it very amusing.
As we continue to talk, we walk down the sidewalk across from the beach. We just walk together and talked for hours getting to know each other. She stops a few times to side down on the bench and I sit down right beside her, with my arm around her shoulder. "How do you walk so much?"she complained. "Well," I started, "everyone loves walking and I go jogging. You really need to exercise more." "Oh yeah, well I do. I call it laying down. It works out the mind and relaxes the muscles." I laugh at her remark. "That explains why you are so tired. Ok, let's go for lunch. We can sit down and rest. Then we could go see a movie together or go to the carnival. If you want, I can carry your lazy butt there," I said joking with her.
I don't know how, but the next thing I knew she was on my back as I carried her around. "You know I was joking right?" She laughed then said, "You shouldn't have offered. At least you can say this is a date you can remember." "Yeah, yeah, I hear you. It is ok. I don't mind carrying you at all. You are light and not as heavy as you look," I said jokingly. From behind she hits me on the back of my head while laughing lightly. It seems to be a thing with me getting hit all the time. After awhile, but not too long, I let her down to walk. Now I was beat.
We walked into IHOP for lunch. IHOP is a breakfast based restaurant, but they fix lunch, too. We both ordered break food for lunch. We sat there for talking for hours, not even realizing we have been there for that long. I got to know a lot about Jess like her dreams of being a veterinarian to help animal because she loves them, what she wants for the future, and her college major. She loves history and always like to explore new things. She is very amazing and likes to help people when she can. We even talked about what I want to be in the future, which is a psychologist.
I used to want to be a chef, but I didn't see myself working in a kitchen for the rest of my life. Cooking will just be my hobby as well as photography and sketching. When the waiter came to our table to take our plates, we realized that we have been in here for awhile, almost 3 hours. We got up, I paid the bill, and we left. I really had a great time talking to Jess. She is really funny and sweet. The sun was about to set and we decided instead of going to the movies or carnival, we would sit down at the beach near her hotel and just watch the sunset. It was getting could as the night drew closer.
I wrapped my arms around her and we cuddle on the bench outside. I look down at her and she was really beautiful and sweet. I couldn't help but kiss her on the forehead. She smiled back at me and then kissed my lips passionately. Then she lays her head on my chest. This was an amazing first date. I hope we could do this again soon. After an hours, the sun finally set and it was dark out.
We both get up, as it was time to take her back to her room. I walked her home. As we walk, we talk for a bit. "I had a really great time out with you," she said to me. "This was an amazing first date and I wish this night didn't end," she said with a sad voice. I pick up on it and notice she was lost in thought. "What's wrong? We will get to do this again. If you have something on your mind, you can always tell me." "No, I am fine. Just thinking about something random," she says while she smiled at me.
I just take her word for it and hold her close as we walk back to her place. We reach her room. She opens her front door and yells to her parents that she is back. "I had a great time tonight," I said to her. "I'll see you later beautiful. I love you." "I love you too." We kiss one more time while smiling before she goes in her room. I was really happy that I got to spend time with Jess.
I just kept thinking about her. She was stuck on my mind. I pull out my phone and call Jake's phone to come pick me up. He doesn't answer after the first call. I call his phone 2 more times and again still nothing. It is only 10pm, so he should still be up. He said that he would pick me up and he isn't answering. I feel like this was intentional after what happened earlier. Now I have to go wait for the bus to show up and I don't even know when the next one will be. This sucks.
I call Grace's phone and she answers. "Hello lover boy," she says, "how was your date? If you kissed, do tell." She made kissy noises in the phone. "Grow up already succubus. You are such a child." "I know you are, but what am I?" I reply, "It is like talking to a 5 year old. Anyway, I just called to say I might come home late." "Oh wow!" Grace exclaimed, "The date went that well. Ok, don't tell me the details." "Shut up! Gosh, you have a dirty mind. No, I tried to call Jake because he was supposed to pick me up, but he ditched me."
I had to pull the phone away from my ear for what came next. Grace screamed "what" into the phone. I almost was deaf in my right eye. She was vexed and upset, as was I. "Be careful out there," she said to me. "The next time I see Jake, I am going to kick his ass." My sister haves a short temper, but she have my back. I reply, "Thanks, but I think it is best if I handle it. If Mom or Dad is home, let them know and they will pick me up, but it may still take awhile." "Ok, I'll let Dad know. He is home today. I'll go get him." "Thanks sis."
