Scenarios:
1.) Voluntary You planned on spending your summer volunteering at a wildlife rescue just outside of town. It was a simple thing for you, seemed like the right thing to do. The people were nice enough, and after the first week you were really enjoying the work. You hadn't met the owner of the rescue yet. A power outage has all members of the rescue family, and all volunteers, working extended hours. After securing the aviary, you get the distinct feeling that you were being watched. Glancing around, you finally meet the gaze of a german shepard sitting obediently by a fallen ladder near the back of the bird barn. The dog whined softly, looking straight up overhead. Following the dog's gaze, you nearly jumped out of your skin when you notice the guy laying boredly on one of the rafters, clearly stuck up there, glaring down at the dog and the ladder like he'd been personally betrayed.
2.) Captain Working at the veterans hospital was a constant emotional roller coaster. Then a soldier is brought in with severe burns, broken bones, field-stitched injuries; being an especially annoying asshole under the influence of the heavy pain killer he's on. You always wind up falling in love with the troublesome ones.
3.) Zombie Apocalypse "It's the end of the world as we know it..." Little did he know, the radio at the diner this morning was actually foretelling the impending disaster that rolled in around seven o'clock. He'd gotten to the diner in a small town off the highway, planning on grabbing some food and maybe figuring out his next move. Then the emergency broadcast system went off. He and your character decide to team up in order to try and survive the end of the world.
