Chapter Three

There's no feeling to compare to the one I always get when I'm spending time in the woods. It's a feeling of utter and complete freedom. No boundaries, no buildings or any sign of human civilization.

“Got ya!” Skylar yelled as he jumped out of the bushes as a mountain lion at me.

“Missed!” I yipped then shifted into a cheetah and bolted through the trees.

I wove in between the trees and crossed a small stream. My pace quickened and I entered a small open place in the trees. I glanced over my shoulder then looked back just in time to see a tree right in front of me.

I tried to stop and ended up smashing my side into it. Tubmling to the ground and shifted back into my wolf. Skylar entered the clearing as a wolf and started laughing. I growled and rolled over onto my stomach and glared at him.

“Laugh it up. Just be glad I'm still recovering from the stupid tree.” I growled.

“It wasn't the tree's fault.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

I sat up and glanced around the area wondering where we had ended up at. My eyes landed on a black shape near the edge of the treeline, I tilted my head and stood up. Padding closer I realized it was a wolf watching us from the shelter of some bushes.

I stopped and wagged my tail. He flattened it's ears and took a step back. His wolf was a solid black color except for his face which was white. Just above his eyes were two small patches of white, what caught my attention were his eyes. They were a milky gray color, something I didn't see everyday.

“Hi, I'm Reia.”

He swiveled his ears and glanced towards Skylar the back to me. Skylar trotted up to my side and was still laughing a little.

“Did you see her smack into that tree?”

“Kind of hard to miss.” the rouge said.

“Shut up.” I snarled at Sky and snapped at his ear.

He yelped and backed away from me.

“So what's your name?” I asked.

The shifter didn't answer, instead he turned and walked away. I stared after him and growled.

“I was just trying to be friendly.” I muttered.

“Not most rouges are friendly.” Skylar said.

“Whatever. Lets get back, we've been gone for a while.”

It's been three days since Seth and Bella joined the pack, they moved into a house close to town and have made several friends from within the pack. Bella is supposed to be getting and ultrasound sometime today to find out what the baby is. Then we will be able to start picking out names.

Skylar ran past me and shifted into a hawk and flew up above the trees. I morphed into a Mississippi kite and flew after him.

“Hey um....” Sky said then trailed off.

“What?” I asked flying closer to him.

“Would you...like to go into town with me this Friday? I was thinking we could go to a restaurant and maybe go ice skating.”

“Sure. You'd have to teach me how to skate cause I've never been.”

“It's not that hard. Once you get the hang of it it'll get easy.”

“If I fall and break an arm I'm blaming you.”

“Alright.”

I mentally smiled then circled over the town towards my house. As we flew over the pack's village I saw seven cars parked outside my house.
