You were siting in a dinner with the man you love. James Buchanan Barnes, it was his last night here he was shipping out tomorrow morning. "What wrong doll?" Looking up you realized you were crying. "Nothing James I'm just worried about you leaving..." he came over to you wiping your tears and kissing you. Suddenly the song that you both met to came on. Grabbing your hand he pulled you up to dance. As you were dancing he whispered in your ear. "I know I'm leaving for war tomorrow" pausing for a moment he continued with "but I promise you i'll come home to you!" He kissed you once more pulling away he said loud enough for the whole diner to hear "and when I get home I'm going to marry you." You smiled and pulled him into a hug crying tears of joy. After you left you went home to bed. In the morning you watched him ship off after saying your vows of love to each other once more. You went home crying. You went to the docks everyday for years when finally there was news that the war was won we were all excited, after about a week of not leaving the docks for anything the soldiers returned home. You saw Steve and ran over engulfing him in a hug. Sadly he hugged you back. Pulling away you asked him where James was. "I'm sorry (y/n) he didn't make it." Your smile faded into nothingness. "No you're you're lying, you have to be lying...please" you fell to the ground tears streaming down your face. "I'm sorry.." you got up running home slamming your door and slipping down it. After an hour you felt a pain in your chest and tried to make it your phone to call Steve. Before you made it you vision was blacking out and your hand fell to the ground. Later on steve walked into your house to check on you. He walked in and saw you running over to you he checked for a pulse not finding any he cried he just lost both of his friends right in front of his eyes while still not able to save either of you. Many years later when Bucky had already tried to kill Steve and was living with the avengers. Bucky was asking Steve what happened to you. After hearing that you died of a broken heart he was devastated.
