Jack's POV~

I sat in the highest tree on the highest branch tied to the branch so if I fall I won't fall to my death because I can't fall. I grab my pocket knife and began to-I heard Davan scream I untied my rope and jumped off the branch. I jumped and jumped until I got to the bottom of the tree. I got to the bottom to see everyone staring at me I went back to climb when I walker came up behind me. I still had the pocket knife in hand and I stabbed it without even looking at it. Everyone awed before I re-climbed the tree. I lay on the branch awake pretending to sleep "we need to just help him as soon as he's fine. We go back to our main objective" Russ explained. "I agree but we can do both we can make sure he gets better and still travel to the safe haven." Scott argues. "Guys Davan is trying to sleep" whispered Jackie. Davan the climbed the tree and slept on the ranch below me. Jackie took off her hoodie and they gasped. "I'm like him you wouldn't understand to just leave us be. And none of you tell anyone else especially Davan." They all nodded "We're not crazy,or sick we've had a hard life. Is that too bad? Is that our fault life is SHIT." Scowled Jackie. "That's why I have no emotion I'm used to no feeling to feeling numb. All my smiles and laughs forced but everyone bought it. Only all of you guys could make me really smile and really laugh along with Jack. But Jack he could smile and mean it even at his worst and his smile is contagious like his laugh. I'm scared he'll become like me. Broken and before we left for PAX we promised the fix each other. And we will but we need your help." Jackie explained everyone went silent before one by one everyone rose from their seat they then put all their hands in the middle. "We will" They all whispered. My rope suddenly snapped and I fell out the tree only to be caught by Mark. "Morning" he sang with a small smile I jumped out of his arms "who cut my rope?" Everyone shrugged "fooking bastards" I mumbled. "Jack-" "I heard the whole fookin thing no need to explain okay. Just focus on surviving and keeping everyone safe me and Jackie are fine." I declared "okay I trust you I trust all of you weather that's good or bad I don't know yet. I do however know that it is actually a good decision to trust all of you who are here with me." Scott finished. "Now let's get some shut eye" I climbed onto my branch as did everyone else and let sleep consume me.

Morning~Jack's POV~

I woke up to Mark's arms around my waist I sighed before untying the rope and slipping out of Mark's grip. I then checked my stuff was packed as was Jackie's and Davan's.

Flashback~

"Jack are you awake?" Jackie asked. "You know I am" I mumbled. "Jack wake up early and wake me and Davan up only okay? We're leaving just me you and Davan I can't loose you guys so I'm taking you with me. The group knows all about us and them 'caring' you know we're not used to that." Jackie explained. "What about everyone else?" "We'll write a note Jack look at me" I did as she said. "I love you and so does Davan so does everyone else but they're going to die one by one. We ain't gonna be here to see that as long as we have the necklaces. We're still connected all of us and when they die we will find them and bury them then re-take our leave." She said firmly. I only shrugged and nodded.

Present day~

After I checked all our stuff Ethan stirred in Tyler's arms. I put on my back pack before climbing the tree and waking Jackie and Davan. After we all got ready we looked at the group once more all in their partners arms,sleeping peacefully. "Goodbye guys" we all sang. Before we turned and began to walk the farther I got the worse I felt but Jackie was right we're all going to die one by one and we had to do something about it. After hours of walking the sun went down and we slept in a tree. When I heard a gun go off in the distance where we came from. Home. The crew. I untied my rope as did Jackie we then ran with Davan on Jackie's back. We finally got to camp to see Dan and Phil hiding behind a rock. Felix and Cry were hiding behind a truck and Tyler and Ethan were sitting in the tree. Scott,Russ and Snake were hiding in a massive shrub as snipers were shooting. Four snipers were shooting at us from no where and that's when I heard a scream. Ethan's limp body was in Tyler's arms but before Tyler could react he was shot through the head just like Ethan. I gasped in horror as walkers began to come out of nowhere. Jackie handed me Davan and her backpack as she ran off knife and Silvia in hand.
