"So this elf wants to tear open the sky?" Xaliyah Hawke asks as they walk through the courtyard, "and doing so would somehow restore the elves to glory?"
"So he says," Ayla Trevelyan replies, smiling at a nearby group of soldiers. She rubs her right wrist as they start walking up the stairs.
"And he claims to be Fen'Harel?" the blonde woman with them asks, looking over at the Inquisitor. Ayla nods in response, "how sure are you that he is actually an elven god?"
"He might have a screw loose in the head," Xaliyah pipes up, a smirk following. Ayla remains silent. She trusted Solas and even considered him a friend. His sudden disappearance and betrayal shook her to the core. Even though they are technically enemies now, she doesn't like talking bad about him.
"Your majesty, you don't have to-" Ayla starts, turning to the blonde, who raises her hand to silence the brunette.
"I was on my way back home to my husband when I received a letter from Leliana," Caelia Theirin says, "she spoke of yet another world threatening disaster, so I came here instead. If I had no wish to help this cause, then I would be in Denerim,"
Ayla smiles, looking down at the ground for a moment before loooking back at the queen, "right, apologies," she says as the trio stop on the higher level of the courtyard, where they observe some soldiers training, "I am sorry this has prevented you from returning home,"
Ayla felt horrible when Caelia first told her where her original destination was. The queen missed her husband dearly, it was obvious to see. But as Ayla watches her own husband yelling at the trainees, she realize that if she was ever in Caelia's position, the main thing she would want is to return to Cullen.
Caelia remains silent for a few minutes, "such is life," she says softly, pushing a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear, "I do miss him dearly, though,"
A gagging sound comes from the Inquisitor and the two women look over to see Ayla with one hand over her mouth and the other over her stomach, "If you'll excuse me," the brunette says and hurries up the stairs and into Skyhold.
"You're excused," Xaliyah calls after her and turns to shrug at Caelia, "she's pregnant," she says with full confidence, causing the blonde to blink.
"what...how can you be so sure?"
Xaliyah raises an eyebrow at the woman, "oh, right. You've never been pregnant,"
"And you have?" Caelia retorts and Xaliyah opens her mouth and closes it.
"You got me there," she says before looking back at the building, "but I have heard stories. Constant vomitting? That's a symptom,"
"Maybe she ate something-"
"She has food testers,"
"We all do," Caelia points out, "in case Solas tries to kill us that way,"
"But there is no way it could have been something she ate," Xaliyah continues, "the Quizzy is preggo,"
Caelia groans, "please don't ever repeat that sentence," she says while Xaliyah lets out a laugh.
"Unfortunate time to become pregnant, tho," Xaliyah says after she calms down, "the threat of the world ending again as well as the thought of being a parent,"
"Have you thought of it?"
"Of what?"
"Having a kid?" Caelia asks, "is it something you and Fenris-"
"No," Xaliyah says quickly, looking ahead, "the world can barely handle one of me. Imagine there being two,"
"And a half," Caelia adds but the brunette ignores her.
