Author's POV
Jaehyo puffed a sigh as he watched Hwani skip her way up the track. It was getting late, the street lights were coming on as they went into town. There was supposed to be a fair there today and Hwani was excited to spend it with Jaehyo.
Jaehyo on the other hand, was dreading it.
"C'mon Hyo! Look it's so pretty!" Hwani cheered.
He stuffed his hands in his pockets when Hwani reached out for it, causing her to pout and wrap her arm around his. Aish, she never stops does she? He thought, flipping his hair to the side. Hwani looked at him curiously, then ran her fingers through his hair.
"You need a hair cut."
He surprisingly blushed, pushing her hand away.
"Don't talk about it.." He admitted sheepishly. She giggled, smiling at her old lover.
"Ooooo! Hyo look!" She pointed to a booth. It was one of those prize winning booths, the one where you had to pop the balloons to win something.
"Can you get me that Penguin plushie?"
"No." He dead panned.
She pouted.
"We had a deal..." She whined, tugging on his sleeve. Jaehyo rolled his eyes.
"Fine, fine! Sheesh." Hwani smiled in victory, watching Jaehyo effortlessly win the Penguin from the top shelf.
One by one, the balloons popped as Jaehyo threw the darts. When the bell rang, the booth keeper handed Hwani the penguin with a smile. She thanked the keeper, then thanked Hyo, hugging him tightly.
Before he could protest, Hwani dragged him from booth to booth, winning more stuffed animals than she could carry. He didn't want to admit it, but he was actually having fun. Like the old times...
In the end Jaehyo had won her a total of 11 different stuffed animals, then finally, Hwani dragged him to one last place; the Ferris wheel.
When they got in, Hwani finally rested her arms, placing the animals to the side.
"Isn't this nice?"
Jaehyo blinked, "What?"
"This," Hwani smiled, staring out the small window. "It's like the old times, do you remember them or has that woman changed you?"
He rolled his eyes. "Her name is Mina, not 'that woman'. And yes I remember..."
"It was great back then-"
"Yeah, great, how's Minho?" He sneered, changing the subject.
She sighed. "Heart broken, just like how you were.."
Jaehyo narrowed his eyes.
"What do you mean?"
She rested her chin on her palm, staring out the window.
"I dumped him for you."
Jaehyo did a double take, then scoffed unbelievably.
"What's wrong with you?" He spat like venom. "Why do you keep doing this to us? What the fuck?"
"I don't know, I guess it's just fun?" She sighed. "You how things are with me, I'm never interested for too long, but with you I think it may be different. Jaehyo... There's something about you..."
