"Olivia just wear that its perfect!"

"Kaci please I need something that says...'Yes I'm cute but I don't like to flaunt it'."

"But you do like to show off your clothes! And maybe some other things..."

"Shut up!" I laugh and throw my floral print dress smack at my best friends face. First day of junior year AKA I have to look good.

I go back into my closet and pick out yet another outfit. This time, I choose my high waisted shorts with a maroon sweater that is about 3 times my size along with my brown combat boots.

"Yes?"

"Yes oh my it makes me so heart eyes emoji." Lily mocks me and jumps onto my bed.

"Haha okay I take that as a yes! Thanks guys." I smile and tackle them both.

"Well I still like the dress." Kaci folds her arms over her chest.

"It shows too much...boobs!" I laugh.

"Well I know plenty of guys that wouldn't mind that dress at all!"

"Kaci!!"

We both laugh and lay back on my bed, all of us staring at my blank ceiling.

"So are you ready?" Kaci asks.

"For what? Junior year?"

"Well yea but ya know... The thing..."

I sigh. I am not looking forward to the...thing at all.

"Well I definitely don't want to do it but it's not like I can opt out or anything."

"I know Liv it sucks."

"What scares me is like what if I don't know him?"

"You probably won't."

"Thanks for the supportive words Lily."

"No problem!"

I've been friends with Kaci and Lily for as long as I can remember. They've always been there for me and I to them.

"Okay well I should get going. Wouldn't wanna be late for our first day of school!" Kaci says and rolls her eyes. I laugh and walk them downstairs.

"Bye guys!" I shut the door and lean against it. My parents are always away on business so most of the time I have the house to myself. The house is dead silent as I walk back up my stairs. The only sound is my socks tapping the wood floor ever so slightly. I go back to my room and shut the door behind me.

I grab my laptop and pull the covers of my bed over my legs. Time for Netflix!

I start another episode of American Horror Story, one of my favorite shows. I hear my phone buzz on the dresser and I sigh as I turn to grab it.

Hey livvy! Can't wait for tomorrow :-/ lol meet at the usual spot tmrw morning! Sleep well!

I smile at the text from Niall. Yet another one of my best friends. Him and Liam I could not live without.

I send him the okay and return to Netflix.

I hear a loud creak downstairs and pause the show. Everything is quiet. I slowly put my laptop to the side of me and get out of bed. I grab my old softball bat and tip-toe downstairs, bat in hand.

I reach the bottom of the stairs and start moving towards my kitchen when I hear a loud smash come from the front porch, nearly causing me to slip and fall.

I regain my balance and make my way towards the door. I open the door very slowly and walk bat first out onto the porch.

"Again dude that was sick!"

I turn to the sound of a deep voice near the end of my street. About 6 kids my age were messing around near my bedroom window, not on purpose I assume, with empty beer bottles. One throws the empty bottle right at a target spray painted on a tree. They all scream in excitement.

"Will you please keep it down?!" I yell from my front porch. In my pajama shorts an a long sweatshirt and fluffy socks, I don't think I'm all that intimidating.

"Awh does baby need to get her sleep?"

One says and they all laugh and walk over to my house.

"No I am trying to watch Netflix and you are being very rude and annoying." I say and cross my hands over my chest.

A tall man about my age with curly brown hair steps up. His slim figure fits perfectly with his curly brown hair and sparkling green eyes.

"Excuse us love. We were just trying to enjoy our last day of summer. Forgive us."

I could smell the alcohol on his breath from where I was standing.

"You're drunk. Go home."

They all 'ooo' and clap.

"Sassy now are we?" Says the tall curls.

"I just wanna watch Netflix. Just keep it down or go home." I say, standing up a little straighter. His eyes glance down at my bat and back at my face.

Green eyes steps back and puts his hands up in defeat. "Fine love you win. We'll go home. Next time don't be so snappy about it."

I scoffed and turned to go back to my front door, locking it behind me. The clock goes off, signaling that it was now 11:00pm.

I make it up to my room and huddle under my warm covers. As I close my eyes, I can't help but see the curly, green eyes giant at my doorstep....
