Chapter One

It was the middle of fall when a true miracle occured.

Hannah was getting ready for another competition, the thought of performing in front of the crowd eating away at her mind. This was a big day for her. The marching band had made it to semi-finals once again this year. But this year was different. It was her senior year.

Everyone around her was talking to their families before the band took the field. Hannah didn't have any family there that day. They had other, better, things to do than be there for their daughter.

But little did she know, someone very special to her had made a long trip just for her.

"You've got this guys! Just stay focused!"

The voice of their band director cut through the noise and caused the band to go silent. They stood in line now, watching the band before them perform. Soon it was their turn.

Hannah took a deep breath in and tried to calm her nerves. Maybe this would be the year they finally did it. Maybe they'd go to finals!

The show began and Hannah was doing pretty well. Even though she should have been looking at the drum major, the  girl sometimes liked to take a sneak peak into the crowd to see their reactions. But when she did, she was shocked.

'Is that...no, it can't be. It's probably just someone who looks a bit like her.'

The girl thought to herself as she changed sets. She had believed she had seen her girlfriend, Bella. But it couldn't have been her, right? She lived in an entirely different state. Plus she hadn't mentioned anything about coming. Although, Hannah remembered her asking where the competition was at.

Taking a second glance into the stands, she saw the girl again. Hannah looked beside her and saw a man that did look a lot like Bella's father. Maybe it was her!

The last hit occurred and the band finished their performance. They walked off of the field and headed over to get a drink of water.

"Whew! Nice work guys! That was our best one yet!"

Hannah spoke, smiling at everyone.

"That was amazing..."

A voice came through that Hannah could swear sounded familiar. Around her, Hannah's friends began smiling. They knew who it was.

Hannah turned around and was face to face with Bella. The girl could feel the tears beginning to come through.

"Bella...!!"

Hannah began crying. Everyone around them was staring. But Hannah didn't care. Right in front of her was the person she loved most in this world. The girl could care less what was being said, she was finally face to face with her girlfriend.

"Hi Senpai!"

Bella's eyes were tearing up too. Both girls couldn't hold back their joy and excitement at finally being together. Bella's father stood off to the side, smiling at bit at the girls.

Hannah sat her hat and clarinet down on the grass and rushed over to Bella. The girls hugged and cried together.

"How the heck did you get here?! Wait! I don't care! Bella, I love you so much!"

Hannah's words were jumbled and excited at the same time.

"Oh Hannah! I'm so glad that I made it. I wanted to surprise you! I love you too!!!"

Hannah smiled at Bella and blushed as the girl took a hold of her cheeks and kissed her right on the lips.

Some of Hannah's friends cheered and the director smiled. Even Bella's dad cracked a grin at the girls. Hannah smiled and looked down at Bella.

The announcer was beginning to speak, telling the band who was going to finals. Hannah didn't care at this point. She had Bella in front of her. Nor did she care when her school was called. Finals didn't mean as much to her as Bella did. All she could do was stare into Bella's beautiful eyes.

As everyone around them cheered, Hannah just looked at Bella.

"I love you, kitten."

"I love you too, Senpai. Pack your bags. You're staying with me for fall break."
