After dating for 6 years now, there's the fear of my significant other losing interest. Every girl, even guys have it and it's a part of human nature.
Searching up ways to keep them interested was my first go to. With no luck, I left to go shopping for this week's groceries. Monday has never been an enjoyable day for me but this Monday helped me start something special.
Going straight home with bottles of water, boxes of chicken and bags of vegetables would usually be my first priority, but I saw something through the window of a shop.
I stopped, amazed at the idea that suddenly came to my mind.
Fuck, why have I never thought of this before?
Struggling into the shop with all my bags, I walked straight to the destination of my goal.
What is it you ask? It's a pack of cards.
You might be wondering why a pack of cards could help keep a man, but don't worry, hearing this might make you want to do it too.
There are 54 cards in a pack, there's 52 weeks in a year. That means 1 card each week (the jokers would be used for a special occasion).
What use would it be to give a card a week? Well it's not just the card, but what's on it.
Buying a pack of cards, I finally made my way home with adrenaline pumping through my veins.
Just before I opened the door, the door was opened from the inside to reveal a man with a warm smile. He took the bags from my hands and gave me a peck on the lips before heading inside.
Following him into the kitchen, I leaned against the counter, watching him put away the raw chicken in the fridge. While he was looking away, I took the pack of cards out of one of the other bags and sneaked away into our bedroom. Opening my bra draw, I hid the pack until the right moment.
I jogged back to the kitchen and saw his muscular back and almost drooled but keeping myself together, I went and hugged him from the back.
"How was your work, dear?" As I asked, I hugged him closer.
Removing my arms from his body, he turned around, grabbed me by the waist and pulled me close before speaking,
"Work was alright, finally managed to get the program working properly. How's your arms doing? Was the shopping too heavy today?"
I shook my head and smiled and I tipped toed and pecked his chin. He looked down at me for 3 seconds before effortlessly picking me up, making me wrap my arms and legs around him like a koala.
He walked to the sofas in the living room and sat down with me straddling him. His touch made me feel warm as he softly massaged my arms.
"What shall we eat for dinner? Wanna challenge making a chicken lasagne?" The energy inside me couldn't be contained and my smile widened at his chuckle.
"Yeah, why not? Sounds good to me.
Since it's only 4, lemme show you some pictures I took today."
I rolled over on the sofa to let him get up and he went to get the camera. Buying him the camera was one of the best things I've ever done. Seeing him so passionate about learning photography makes him so much more attractive.
He walked back in with his camera in hand, sat back down and pulled me back onto his lap. With my back against his front, he turned on the camera in front of me and showed me the beauty of nature that even Monday's have to offer. There was an alluring picture of the sun setting between branches of trees, giving a glorious effect.
Looking back at him, I could see the satisfaction and happiness in his face which made me melt inside. No matter what, his pictures would always stay in my mind and heart. Every picture he shows to me feels like a priceless gift that can never be erased.
Spending an hour talking about the trips and dirty work of getting such perfect pictures only felt like a second. Plus, he talked about how the relaxation of having music in the background helped him take such amazing photographs.
It became time to make dinner so we both washed our hands and prepped the ingredients.
Once the lasagne was in the oven, I was feeling mischievous. I took some cheese and put it on his silky hair.
"Oh my gosh, your hair is turning white!" I exclaimed with a look of horror. He touched his head to find the cheese I planted there and I gave a sheepish smile while shrugging.
"Oh you silly girl." That was a warning and it was time for me to run.
So that's what I did, I ran out of the kitchen and tried hiding behind the sofa. Due to my small frame, I thought I could be hidden perfectly.
Curled up into a ball, I didn't expect to me lifted from the ground and hanging in the air. That didn't last long since he gently threw me onto the sofa and leaned over me.
"Do I still have white hair, hmmm?" I decided to play hard to get and turned away from his handsome face.
"Oh, I'm getting the silent treatment? After you put cheese in my hair?"
I couldn't help but grin but led to a full blown laugh as he started tickling me. I was thrashing around, trying to escape but there was no use, his strength outmatched mine by a mile.
After a few minutes, he stopped and both of us were recovering from laughter when he leaned down and kissed my lips, softly yet sensually. I
Pulling away, he looked into my eyes. No matter how many times we kiss, I always feel hypnotised. He sucked in a breath, moving my attention to his plump lips when he spoke,
"I think the lasagne is ready." I absentmindedly nodded, still dazed until I realised what he said. I shot up, almost head-butting him and pulled him into the kitchen.
Luckily our dinner was fine and I left my dear to do the plating while I left for our room.
Taking out the pack of cards, I picked the King of Hearts. I took a permanent black pen and sat down at the desk with the card.
On the back of the card, I wrote,
'So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart'
I dunno how it all fit on the card but I felt excited.
Taking the card, I went back to him to see him putting the plates on the table. I hid the card and we sat down to eat.
And oh sweet marshmallows was it good.
"Mmhhhh, this may be my new favourite meal now!" He chuckled,
"You silly girl, I love you so much."
I thought this would be the perfect moment to give it to him so I took out the card and passed it to him,
"For you baby."
Reading it, he became silent and then looked at me with a lovely smile.
"I love you too. I know how much you love music so I wanted to do something special for you." I felt a bit shy, not knowing whether he liked it or not.
He got up from his seat and walked to my side, pulling me into a hug and put his head on my chest to feel my beating heart.
"I love you" With that, he gave me a kiss filled with love and passion.
No matter what, I love him too.
