The karaoke bar was smaller than I remembered, though it was much more crowded than I had thought it was a few years ago.

"Claustrophobic?" Kathleen chuckled, referring to my panicked expression as she pulled me through the crowded bar.

"A bit." I lied, dropping my head down, trying to keep people looking directly at me.

Rule Number Twenty-Five: The less people that see you with a target, the better. Refer to rules four and eight.

"Lets go to a booth!" She yelled over the crowd, pulling me to a secluded booth towards the back, away from most of the people. Perfect.

"Thank you." I gave her a small smile. She nodded before going to get us drinks. When she returned, I quickly took a sip.

"What all brought you back to town?" She asked, making small talk, taking a large swig of her drink.

"Work. Boss wanted me to take some more photos of that bridge you showed me." The lie easily flew out of my mouth as I took another sip.

"I like this boss." She chuckled, her attention gathering towards the crowd. "Now, which guy is your type. We're finding you a guy tonight."

"Good luck with that." I laughed, taking a long swig, nearly finishing it off.

"How about that blonde guy over there?" She pointed towards the bar, a skinny guy was leaning against the counter, looking like he had a rough night.

"Looks like he just got dumped." I pointed out. Kathleen frowned for a moment before agreeing.

"What 'bout him?" She pointed to a redhead in the center of the crowd, laughing with a beer in his hand.

"Too drunk." I raised my eyebrows at her, unamused.

"You're no fun." She pouted, smiling. "I'll be back!"

She began wading through the crowd towards the redhead, before stopping in her tracks as the karaoke opened up. She gave me a wide smile before running to the little stage.

Once she had finally got her turn, she waded back over to the booth and sat down in exhaustion.

"That was so much fun!" She enthused, finishing off her drink. "You really need to do it some time."

"I wouldn't be caught dead up there." I finished my own drink, motioning to the drunk girl who was currently singing horribly.
"Want another drink, Kat?"

"That would be amazing." She grinned, sliding her glass over to me as I stood up. I quickly made my way across the room to the bar, getting new drinks, before making my way back, trying not to spill the alcohol.

"Do you have any chapstick?" Kathleen asked as I came near.

"In my purse." I said automatically, before tensing up as I realized what I had said.

I quickly sat down the drinks, but it was too late. She began rooting through my purse, before pausing.

"Pretty gun." She laughed, motioning to my pistol. "I get you girl. Can't ever be too careful."

She went to grab the chapstick, but stopped and pulled my list out. My eyes widened and I tried to grab it.

"Just a grocery list." I rushed, but she pulled the list out of my reach, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"Why do you have a picture of Alexander Grigg in here? I went to high school with him... He went missing a few days ago." She paused, seeing the next person on the list. "Why the hell do you have a picture of me in here either?"

"I can explain," I said, panicked, trying to grab the list. She froze, slowly looking between me, my pistol, and the list, the realization hitting her.

She dropped the list, her hands immediately covering her mouth.

"Oh my god." She cried. I couldn't move. Nothing was going according to plan. "It's only a day trip between us... amd two years ago.. you.. you.. oh my god."

She quickly got up, grabbing her stuff before running out. Out of frustration, I slammed my fist onto the table, the drinks sloshing out of the glasses.

Rule Number Twenty-Six: Don't get caught. Don't let anyone connect the dots.

I quickly downed the drink, before stuffing the list back in my purse and grabbing my coat.

I pushed through the crowd, wishing I had driven and didn't have to go back for my things, knowing I was going to have to walk back before finishing the job.

This was going to be a long night.
