Atlantis pursed her lips as she looked at England. He looked out of it.
"You okay?"
"Hm?" England responded, looking at her with dull eyes. Geez, school has taken a toll on him.
"Come with me."
Atlantis took the guy's hand and led him to the music room. They left the door wide open-it was a school rule that a male and female student can't be behind closed doors alone-and Atlantis plopped onto the piano seat.
England sat on the floor next to her-the seat was too small for two people-and closed his eyes, waiting for her to begin playing. Atlantis smiled and started playing their song the two wrote together.
"You're alone, you're on your own, so what?
Have you gone blind?
Have you forgotten what you have and what is yours?
Glass half empty, glass half full
Well either way you won't be going thirsty
Count your blessings not your flaws"
England sighed and leaned on the instrument.
"You've got it all
You lost your mind in the sound
There's so much more
You can reclaim your crown
You're in control
Rid of the monsters inside your head
Put all your faults to bed
You can be king again"
Neither noticed the crowd that was forming around the music room. It was first Austria and Hungary, as they always go to the music room after school, but they heard the song which they'd never heard before and waited at the door, being an audience to the beautiful performance happening before their eyes. Then the rest of the students that heard the gentle melody of the piano came by to see and hear the masterpiece the two wrote together.
"You don't get what all this is about
You're too wrapped up in your self doubt
You've got that young blood, set it free"
England gave a small smile. Atlantis wrote that part for him. He may act all tough, but he was actually a very self-conscious person who doubted himself a lot. Atlantis, being the best friend there was, was helping him with it. He was happy to be her friend.
"You've got it all
You lost your mind in the sound
There's so much more
You can reclaim your crown
You're in control
Rid of the monsters inside your head
Put all your faults to bed
You can be king
There's method in my madness
There's no logic in your sadness
You don't gain a single thing from misery
Take it from me"
England opened his eyes slightly at that part, looking at the floor. True, Atlantis had gone through lots of hardships and misery in the beginning of her country's history. And so had he. It taught them a lot about how misery isn't something to be gained, but something to be learned from.
"You've got it all
You lost your mind in the sound
There's so much more
You can reclaim your crown
You're in control
Rid of the monsters inside your head
Put all your faults to bed
You can be king
You've got it all
You lost your mind in the sound
There's so much more
You can reclaim your crown
You're in control
Rid of the monsters inside your head
Put all your faults to bed
You can be king again"Atlantis stopped, and looked over at England, who looked up at her with a smile. The sudden clapping caused her to slam her hands on the piano and England to jump and hit his head on the instrument.
"OW FUCKING QUEEN ELIZABETH!" The Brit groaned, rubbing his head as the two looked over at the group by the door.
"Did...Did you guys hear all of that?" Atlantis asked.
"All of it." Austria nodded.
The two were silent for a moment.
"Time to jump off the roof."
"I'm right behind you."
They ran out of the room.
