"Ash, what do you think about laying in the sun later?" Brooklyn asked absentmindedly while pushing her food around her plate. "We've already been here for a few days yet we haven't even stepped foot in the beach. It would be a shame if we never made use of it."
"I don't see why not. And I see your point, who can resist that view," Asher pointed behind her where the living room is situated, and beside it was the sliding glass door much like the one in their bedroom, except much bigger. It gives them a clear and wide landscape of the beach.
"Exactly," she grinned, "I've been longing to run my toes through the sand, it looks so inviting."
He laughed, eyes crinkling at the corners. "Is it bad that I'm thinking more along the lines of having sweet passionate sex on the beach?"
Brooklyn scrunched her face. "Ew, what's wrong with you, why would you even think of that."
"Don't be a hypocrite, you're thinking of it now," he accused, pointing an accusatory finger at her. "Don't lie."
"That's only because you put the picture in my head," she whined, blushing at the prospect of being caught. Brooklyn had to clench her legs at the idea of having sex at the beach. "It's your fault for tainting my innocent mind."
He had the audacity to laugh out loud. "Sorry to burst your bubble babe, but you're anything but innocent. No 'innocent' girl screams so loud and has such a filthy mouth," he grinned, "it's okay though, I like it."
"Stop it," she whispered, hiding behind the curtain of her hair. "I have to admit though, now that I think of it it's quite-"
"Sexy?"
"What I'm saying is that I might be open to the suggestion of doing it in the beach now," she spat. "Just for the experience," defiance clear in her tone. "Don't put words in my mouth, it's disrespectful."
Asher merely shrugged, like he couldn't be bothered with caring. "I'll be looking forward to it," he said while winking.
Rolling her eyes, she picked up her fork and speared and piece of chicken and popped it in her mouth. She knew any attempt to make him stop thinking like that would be useless. "What was I thinking when I agreed to going out with you," she muttered.
"It was because of the sex, probably," answered Asher, hearing her even though she spoke under her breath.
Unbelievable.
His immature attitude aside though, she now had the problem of not having any bathing suit to wear. It sucked being lied to about where they were going, or else she would've been prepared and brought a few.
Brooklyn thought of what she could use. A tank top and a pair of shorts? Or perhaps her undergarments would suffice, it was a bikini look-alike after all. That would work.
With that in mind, she hurriedly emptied her plate and washed it, silently telling Asher what she was about to do, and dashed out to her suitcase.
Opening it up, she rummaged through her pile of clothes to see if she could find anything else before she takes up her last resort. Being packed for a 18°C weather, there wasn't much that she could use unless she was aiming for a white see through cotton shirt that would be categorized as inappropriate.
That blows.
She growled in frustration as she lifted up yet another long sleeved shirt. First things first, sure, New York would be cold this time round, but must she really pack the same stuff. And although she was running around like a pair of headless chickens while packing her bags in a hurry, there wasn't a single short or even sleeveless piece of clothing!
