Hope grabbed his test from his desk and hastily opened it. Quickly glancing over the first few questions, he smiled and grabbed his pencil.
"This test is going to be a piece of cake," he thought to himself. He turned his attention to question one and began answering his test.
Question 1: Poison is an effective tool in a ninja's arsenal. Which one of these poisons is the deadliest and how do you counter act the toxins.
a) nights shade
b) wolfs bane
c) desert-rose
d) larkspur
Hope circled answer A and began filling out the short answer response that goes along with the question.
"There is no known antidote. With medical ninjutsu, the poison can be extracted. Combination of alcohol and respiratory aid can help slow progression of the toxins."
~An hour later
"Alright class, the written portion of the test is now over." With a sigh of relief, Hope closed his test.
"I finished." Trinity nudged Hope's shoulder.
"How did you do?" She grinned widely and laughed. Before he had a chance ti answer her question, Baki announced the next test.
"The next test is the genjutsu test. We will do this test one person at a time. This test will see if you can tell if you're trapped in a genjutsu or not. This test will go in alphabetical order, when i call your name please follow me into the testing room. First, Hirito Akamura." Hirito was a small boy for his age, no taller than 5'5. He walked past Hope and glared. With a look of confusion, Hope turned to Kazumi and Trinity.
"What was that about?" Kazumi and Trinity shrugged and told Hope not to worry about it. "Are you guys nervous," Hope asked.
"I feel pretty confident about this test. I've practiced releasing myself from Genjutsu," stated Trinity.
"All I want is to see what squad we are in. Hopefully we are in the same squad with each other," said Kazuki.
About half an hour later Baki came back in.
"About 20 people have gone before me, including Trinity and Kazuki. It has to be me next." Hope took a deep breath and exhaled.
"Hope Sayri!"
"Thats it. My turn."
Baki escorted Hope out of the room and into the hallway.
"I have high hopes for you Hope. These tests aren't that difficult. Just keep calm and think. Don't let me down."
Hope nodded. They came to a small room with a table where three people sitting there. One of these people is the 4th Kazekage, Gaara. Hope's heart began to race.
"Stay clam Hope," Baki said. "Ok it's time to start the test!" Hope was told to close his eyes and when he opened them, he would have to say if he's in a Genjutsu or not. "Tell us Hope. are you in a Genjutsu, or not.
"Okay," Hope thought, "just analyze your surroundings and situation. Look for anything suspicious and that will tell you if you're in a Genjutsu." Looking around his environment, he could not see any differences in the environment. "Come on! There's got to be something wrong here....WAIT! The room! It wasn't this big when I entered with Baki Sensei!" Hope had his answer. "Yes. I am in a Genjutsu....RELEASE!" The room returned to normal size.
"Congratulations Hope. You passed the test. Results and squads will be posted on the Bulletin Board. You're free to go home."
"Thank you Baki Sensei, Lord Kazekage." Gaara gave a nod and a faint smile to Hope. Hope left the room with a huge grin on his face. "I passed. I'm one step closer to becoming a Genin. Hmm. I wonder how Trinity and Kazuki did."
