Carson had never really been one to get into a fight, but after seeing him bottle up his anger for the last two hours, it was practically inevitable. When he was younger, he was better at controlling his emotions. What had changed, then?
Stephanie ran out behind Wyatt as soon as the fight had started. She was still only wearing a large tee shirt with no pants and Wyatt was still only wearing boxers, but I don't think either of them cared. There were more important things to worry about, like the fight that was currently going on.
It was scary at first, but after seeing the boys have at it for thirty minutes straight, it just became tense. My hands kept a firm grip on the hood of Carson's car. Stephanie started crying, causing ugly, black tears the same color as her hair to run down her face. Elise and I weren't as insanely emotional, though.
"They have to cut it out," Elise huffed. At first, she was concerned for Carson's safety, but as time passed by, her attention turned to other things. "Mom and Dad are going to notice all those bruises Wyatt gave him."
I nodded as I watched Carson dodge a fist from Wyatt to knee him in the stomach. Wyatt groaned. That was going to leave a mark.
"Stop, please!" Stephanie cried. Apparently, she was really sensitive to any type of conflict.
"I'm going to stop it," Elise huffed as she pushed herself off of the hood of Carson's blue Honda.
I reached out and grabbed her wrist. Of course, I wanted her to stop the fight -I hated seeing Carson in as much pain as he was in now- but it had gone on long enough that I knew there was nothing to do. She had already tried to pull them apart after she tried to defend her brother and fight, but Wyatt and Carson pushed her out of the way after almost punching her in the face. "No, Elise. They're stronger than you."
"Then help me," she said.
I shook my head. "We're going to get hit. If you're going to do it, we have to outnumber them at least." I gestured to Stephanie.
Elise scrunched up her face like she was in pain. It was obvious that she didn't want to include Stephanie in anything she did, but it was our only chance to make any impact..
"Fine. If we can get Miss. Waterworks to shut up for a minute, it'll be two against three."
I raised my brows in shock when she said the word "three", even though I should have known that she would involve me. Carson let out a yelp as Wyatt punched his chin. I'd noticed that Wyatt was stronger, but Carson was taller and faster. That was why it had gone on as long as it had. There were bruises forming on the both of them. My heart sank when I saw Carson's face crinkle from the pain.
"We can't beat both of them," I said to Elise nervously. She didn't listen to me. Instead, she grabbed my wrist and lead me around to the other side of the guys where Stephanie was yelling things at the boys even though they weren't listening.
"If we try and make them stop," Elise said in Stephanie's ear just loud enough so I could hear. "we'll outnumber them."
Carson pushed Wyatt, and he fell onto the hard concrete. I don't know how, but he pushed himself up and used all of his momentum to put Carson in the same position that he had just been in. However, Wyatt wasn't as nice to Carson and he was to him. He started kicking Carson while he was on the ground. I heard myself cry out, and it took every ounce of willpower I had not to get in the middle of it all.
"Okay," Stephanie sniffed and nodded. For a second, I thought I saw Elise roll her eyes at Stephanie's effort to fight tears.
Carson pulled himself up on all fours as quickly as he could and kicked Wyatt's legs out from underneath him. Both guys struggled to get up off of the ground.
