Altair Of The End

Chapter 1

My name is Laine and I have a sister named Sera to be honest we are not really sisters but we treated each other as sisters we lived at an orphanage.

I am greatful to everyone because they treated me fairly even though I am disabled, I can’t  hear... Yes I am born deaf but I am greatful to the headmistress she gave me another chance to hear again, I undergoed an operation that gave the chance to hear again, now I have cochlear implants.

•Laine’s POV •

“Sera faster or headmistress is going to scold us, this is an important day” I said while jogging in place

“Wait le--me catch my brea--the I know this is an important day but the adults can wait right?” Sera said as she run towards me

We arrived in the meeting room
“I told you. Everyone is already here, quickly come lets find a place near the adults”

“I want to be adopted already, I’m so excited” Sera said while she styling her hair

“Silence everyone these are Mr. And Mrs. Clark they are looking for two beautiful girls, to be their future daughters” the headmistress said as she signed the couple to look around

•Unknown POV•

After a while of walking the couple stopped in front of Laine and Sera and the male suddenly kneel with on his one knee

“Ladies are you two willing to be our children” Mr. Clark said

The two kids suddenly jumped in excitement they both said “YES!”

The headmistress suddenly pulled the two kids behind her and said “ Oh no no no I’m sorry but the two of them are not allowed both of them are really special, were terribly sorry. *the headmistress pulled the couple* we still have lots of beautiful kids here so take your time, take your time” she said while looking at Sera and Laine angrily

•Laine’sPOV •

After the couple left. Me and Sera  are in our room talking about what happened
“What do you think about the headmistress said, about us being special  all I know is they let us eat food that tastes like medicine and drink lots of medicine” Sera asked me.

“Yeah you’re right all of us are treated the same except for the medicines” I said
While we are talking we heard a knock on the door and the headmistress’ head poked in

“Sera lets go” she said cold heartedly and closed the door

“ I’ll be back later, see you later Laine” Sera said and walked cheerfully to door

Now Sera is with the headmistress as always, I tried to occupy myself by reading  how to sign language, and sleepiness kicked in.

I woke up when I heard the door opened Sera came in, she looks really pale and exhausted, she always come back exhausted but not this pale.

“Sera are you okay?” I asked as I help her to go to her bed

“I’m fi-” she said and collapsed in my arms

I panicked, I ran outside and called for help, luckily the boys room is still open and I asked help from Jeremy. He carried her to her bed as I called Mary the nurse.
I came back to our room with Mary, she checked Sera.

“She is just exhausted. Call me when she wake up, so I can check her again condition, I’ll be in my clinic” Mary said and she Went outside the room

Jeremy left with Mary. I sat at the bedside of Sera and held her hand

“Sera I’m really worried, please be okay” as caress her head.

“Laine, Laaaine, wakey wakey” I heard a voice

I slowly opened my eyes and saw Sera sitting infront of me smilling

I suddenly jolted out of my seat

“Are you okay? For real like PERFECT” I said while checking her temperature
“I’m really oka-” I didn’t let her finish her sentence, I immediately drag her to Mary’s clinic into the bed

I called Mary as I begged Sera to stay in bed

“Oh! Are you feeling okay now Sera? Stay there and I’m going to start your check up” she said as I gave her a thumbs up for arriving just in time.

“Umm, check...check. Perfect your ready to go, the reason she collapsed yesterday is because of fatigue. Don’t do it again Sera you’re making Laine REALLY worried” Mary said while smirking at me

“Okay, okay, stop the chitchat, Sera come on lets go, Oh and THANKS Mary” I said while tugging Sera arm

“Again” she sounded defeated

•Sera's  POV•

Again for the second time I’m dragged around the orphanage, from the moment that I woke up I’m already stressed and mentally sighing

“Wanna go somewhere?” I suddenly asked

“ Where?”

“Wanna go to the café, I got my money?” said as we stop walking

“Your treat. Call” she said

"Okay"

Both of us arrived fast, because the café is quite near the clinic, in the café both of us ordered strawberries and cream and payed for it.

We are now walking back to our room and suddenly we heard the fire alarm on and an explosion near the meeting room.

We went to see what happened but we only see children crying, the adults lying lifeless on the floor.

"S-Sera w - what happened, Wh-y is that that man biting Luke's neck" she said holding my arm really tight

"La-Laine where are you" I looked back and saw Laine struggling in the arms of a man

I tried to save her, but my head suddenly hurted it felt like hammers pounding my head simultaneously, I fell into my knees my sight became blurry, the last thing that I saw was Laine struggling in the hands the man clad in  black.

And everything went black.
