Sage helped me load up her car. My heart was thumping loudly. I had to make this perfect. Getting in the car Sage pulled out heading to the airport.

“So how long have you and Shay been friends?” I asked.

“Ever since high school.” Sage smiled. “Shay and I tried out for football. Of course neither one of us got it so we started our schools LGBTQ group. We became friends since. We don't talk as much either since she got to Lacey.” Sage sighed.

“I worked with Shay. She was the reason I got up to go to work. We use to hang out all the time until Lacey.” I said.

“When did you know that you were in love with her?” Sage said.

“It was a few summers ago we were at the same picnic. The guys were playing football and Shay of course was with them. When she threw the ball Dave missed and it caught me in the face. She raced to my side and held me in her arms. Saying how sorry she was that even with the bruises I was still going to look beautiful.” I laughed.

“That's romantic if you look at it.  Why didn't you tell her how you felt?” Sage questioned.

“Have you ever gotten tongue tied around someone you had feelings for?” I asked.

“Nope can't say that I have.” Sage smiled.

“Well I couldn't speak we became friends then best friends. We did everything together. That was until Lacey came into the picture. Then things changed. I only got to see her at work which was enough to make me fall for her more. I just don't know if she feels the same.” I sighed as I stared out the window.

“Shay is the type to keep feelings inside unless she knows the person feels the same. She talked about you alot. Girl to be honest I think she does feel the same for you. It's just you have to tell her that so she knows.” Sage smiled.

Sage was almost like Shay. She was built. Her hair a bit longer and she too had gorgeous eyes.

“I get all tongue tied when I'm around her.” I frowned.

“You got to tell her before the wedding so she don't make a mistake marrying that bitch of a woman.” Sage gripped the steering wheel as her knuckles turned white.

I swallowed. “I know. I think I have an idea how.” I smiled.

“Mmmm…..Do tell!” Sage said.

I told Sage the plan as we pulled up to the airport and got out.

“I will help you make that happen.” Sage smiled as she carried our luggage inside.

We stood in line as they check boarding passes and told us where to go. It didn't take as long as I thought and so we were boarding the plane. I texted Shay.

We are boarding the plane. See you soon.

I was so excited to see her and hug her. I missed her even though it's been a few days. We got to first class and found our seats.

“So how long have we been dating?” I asked.

“A few weeks.  If Lacey gets you alone and asks about your feelings for Shay tell her that you love her like a sister and that's what you were talking about on her birthday.” Sage smiled.

“I see.” I said.

“Hello ladies and gentlemen. This is your captain speaking.  Take off will be happening here soon. We ask at this time all cellular devices and laptops be turned off until we are in the air. We will let you know when it's safe to turn them back on. Also if there's any problems ask the flight attendants for assistances. Other then that sit back and enjoy the flight.” The male voice said over the intercom.

I shut my phone off. “I just hope that works.”

“You gotta make it convincing.” Sage smiled.

“You weren't there to see how pissed Lacey got.” I smirked.

“Well the good thing is you got me. I will convince Lacey. You belong with Shay not her.” Sage smiled.

We leaned back and enjoyed the flight.  We talked more about Shay and got to know each other more. She told me the nicknames that Shay got in high school like Romeo and Lady Killer. I didn't think I could love Shay anymore.

Once we got the okay to have our cell phones I pulled mine out to text Shay that we are in the air.

Shay texted back. I will meet you both at the airport.

I leaned back enjoying the flight. It was a few hours but it was all going to be worth it when I would see Shay. I managed to pull the book I was working on up on my phone and added more to it. I even let Sage get a sneak peek of it.

“This is really good.” Sage smiled.

“Thanks. I haven't let anyone read it. I can't wait until I have it finished. I told Shay about it but she has no idea it's about her.” I smiled.

“I know she's going to love it.” Sage said.

The captain came back and said we were about to land. Turning my cell off I put it in my pocket. My heart jumped wildly in my chest.

Sage grabbed my hand. “Calm down.” She said.

“I can't help it.” I smiled.

Soon it was our turn to get off the plane. As I exited the terminal and saw Shay. I ran to her. She picked me up swinging me around. Sage smiled as she came up alongside us.

“Can I run into your arms too?” Sage chuckled.

Shay laughed. “No but redhead over there may want to run into your arms.”

I looked and sure enough a beautiful redhead  was eyeballing Sage up. Sage smiled.

“Go get her tiger.” Shay shoved Sage towards the woman. Then she turned her attention back to me. “How was the flight?”

“Good Romeo.” I smiled.

“Sage told you. Did she tell you they called her Mercutio? Or my favorite Robin?” Shay laughed.

“No she didn't.” I smiled.

Shay reached up and moved a strand of hair out of my face. I tried to hide a blush as Sage shoved Shay.

“What was that for?”Shay laughed.

“Show us the sites and we will fill you in on how we meant.” Sage pointed.

Shay nodded as we went to get our luggage. We waited than ours came through.  Picking it up we followed Shay out to her truck.
