Roydan

He laid there asleep. Bray hair that was cut close to his scalp. Muddy green eyes and a slender muscled figure laying under the dusty white tent that had protected him too often from the blazing sun. Because Djinns are not creatures that associate together too often, he had been on his own since about ten years of age. He had taught himself to live in the Burning Isles, a place where Djinns usually lived. Learning to survive on his own in this desert-like place had kept him alive for the previous six years.

Roydan sat up in his tent and shook off the excess sand that had collected on him. He had decided that it was time to start traveling back to his cave for study and sleep tonight. After exploring other areas a little while ago, he found another cave half a mile from his and saw that it contained a raggedy collection of books on spells and powers of djinns. He had almost finished reading through all of them and decided he would begin to train with the magic side of him after he read through the last book.

Later that evening, Roydan had made it to the poorly shaped place of a library/cave and seen Adian, a surprisingly polite, but scraggly older Djinn that had helped him out on certain occasions.

Mumbling and messing with his glasses, "What yah doing here kid?"

Roydan replied, "I'm actually gonna try and start working on my own magic." Adian chuckled with slight disbelief, like he knew that Roydan was going to need a lot of help.

"Fine then, help me." Said Roydan after Adian had the nerve to chuckle, challenging Adian to step up and help him with the magic of the Djinns.

Before Adian could come back with a sarcastic reply, he saw lightning flash across the red lit desert and all throughout the land went pitch dark.

As everything went dark, the tattoo on Roydan's shoulder began to glow a bright unnatural white. They both looked at his shoulder in awe and nervousness. He tried to wipe the light away from his shoulder, but he just rubbed his skin raw.

Adian turned a sickly green color because he had read about an event like this happening in the ancient history books, before they were stolen.

Looking at the sickly look on Adian's face made Roydan back up, in fear of being vomited on, before asking, "What just Happened Here?"

He took a few deep breaths before replying to his question, "Have you heard of the old stories of the Indomitable Ones' battle......?"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, so what?" Roydan blurted before realizing what Adian truly meant, and then he added, "......you mean something left the Mark?"

Adian said, "Something didn't leave the Mark.....the Odaix did."

He looked towards Roydan's shoulder, pointing, "And that glowing mark of yours means that you are a Full-Blood..."

Both Roydan and Adian tried to look across the horizon, but they saw nothing but darkness through the entrance of the cave.
