it was sunset when he first found her.
the sky was that blend of orange and pink, intertwining with the faint outlines of silhouettes. the cold air had warmth to it. the city seemed to be silent just for the sunset.
just for him.
he edged closer to the railings overlooking the skyline and the river. if he had enough money to buy a camera, he would, just so he could capture this moment in time.
he peered over the rails, looking underneath the bridge,
and there she was.
her frail body was just lying there, on the cold stone ground.
her legs were tightly pressed against her body, her short, straw coloured hair covering most of her face, with nothing but a hoodie to keep her warm.
he knew nothing about the random stranger on the floor below him, yet something about her was so intruiging. he abandoned his spot on the railings, and made his way down to her.
for a good few moments, he observed her, carefully lifting a few strands of her soft hair from her face to take a good look at her facial details and outine them mentally.
"how did a girl like you end up in a place like this?" he muttered to himself, hands still entwined in her hair, eyes still fixated on her cold, motionless body.
"i honestly dont know."
