i winced as i opened my eyes, the sunlight coming through the sheer curtain covering my window. i roll over to see my angel, karsen, still peacefully asleep.

i mentally laugh. i'm always up before her.

i slowly sit up, careful not to wake her. i grab my phone off the nightstand and look at the time. 9:37am. not bad, caleb.

i go to the messages app and send laela my daily good morning message. i know she's always up before me so i'm not surprised when i see a text back almost right away.

i smile at my phone, locking it to see that karsen is awake.

"good morning babe." i say, planting a kiss on her lips.

"good morning." she smiles as we pull away.

"what you wanna eat for breakfast?" i ask as i swing my legs over the side of the bed and stand up.

"tender greens or something, your girl gotta stay healthy or whatever." she laughs.

i fake laugh with her. this girl was always eating healthy, i didn't understand. i hated that because she'd also criticize everyone around her who wasn't eating healthy.

"alright, im gonna postmates some then take a shower." i tell her, grabbing my towel and a change of boxers and socks.

"you better not postmates mcdonalds or something for yourself, that shit's nasty." i hear her call out as i walk towards the door.

i nod, subtly rolling my eyes as i get out the door.
