"Ara! Kim Ara! Come downstairs already your dad and I want to talk to you" her mom yelled.
"Okay mom give me a second" she yelled back. After a good 10 minutes of trying to get out of a really tight pair of pants she finally came downstairs.
"Okay.. so? What's all the fuss about",she asked. She looked at her mom, who looked rather nervous than usual.
"Listen honey, ..the thing is we are moving next week" Her mom answered.
"WHATT!?"
"Look sweetheart, we know you don't like meeting new people and starting all over again but this really isn't something you should overreact about", her mom replied in a kind voice.
"But mmoooo-", her dad cut her off.
"The reason we waited till the last moment to tell you was because we knew you'd protest, but trust me the new house is even better and is even closer to my new company building and not to mention the new school you are joining has really good facilities" her dad said in the most convincing way he could think of.But no she wasn't convinced. It took her like 7 years to make the only three friends she has now and even if a kid tried to be friends with her it was because her parents were rich and not because she meant something special to them. This was a literal nightmare. How is she supposed to relive that sad, lonely life all over again? Besides, she was just starting to get away from that life. Well, she did have Kevin but he was always a little silent and unresponsive to all her complaining about life.
Two days later,
"Ara are you done with the packing we are going to be late", her dad yelled from downstairs.
"I'm done, I'm done" she said walking down the stairs, still not happy about the idea of moving.
"Oh and dad, there is enough space for Kevin to spend quality time with me there, right?".
"Yes but I hope you make new friends there" he said, emphasizing on the word new. After 2, maybe 3 hours of heating her butt against the car seat they finally arrived. She got off the car and stretched her body, which felt numb after the long drive. She took a glance at her new house and the first words that came out of her mouth was
"You guys got to be kidding me".
Both her mom and dad asked "what?", in unison with a rather confused tone.
"As if the previous house wasn't big enough. We had to yell for others to hear in that house and now this? Are we gonna use walkie-talkies from now on?" She said with a sarcastic smirk.
" I earn the money kid. I do whatever I want with with it" her dad replied laughing. She shook her head and walked towards her new house.Well yeah, her parents might have been rich and they might have just bought a gigantic house, but Ara was never a spoiled kid and her parents didn't intend on making her one. They wanted her to develop a sense of independence and a strong sense of self confidence without the influence of her parents' wealth. And that's what she always tried to do.
*The identity of the infamous Kevin will be revealed later on.*
And yes the first chapter sucks and is cringe af but I promise it gets better.
